The car Stigmund is awesome. The word awesome doesn't quite do it justice.

I (being thick) didn't really understand the "diff" thing however i bloody do nowyikes. The one thing i did notice whilst out last night on the milk run was my heart beating a lot faster than normalyes Kind of like being the passenger in that crazy demo but without the sickness. Just sheer exhilaration. WOO HOO this is totally different.
The other thing i noticed was that boy racer syndrome kicked inhehe. I was looking angrily at people in family wagons. I was wanting them out of my waymad THIS IS MY ROAD................ I then realised it wasn't anger at all, it was just the game has stepped up and my car is now in a different league and i needed to reprogram my brain to adapt.
Acceleration is so impressive and in 4th 5th and 6th gear it pulls like a train, and a very fast one at thatdriving I really am so impressed.

As for the RRP, even though its such a subtle change its transformed the feel and handling of the car. It feels very well planted and now goes directly(if you know what i mean) where i want it too.

Thanks again Monkfish. As always, excellent work bowclap

Sounds good Mel, What we have to imagine is that with a new slightly off beat noise and pulling even stronger with a cam

My new tyre has put back my cam upgrade by another month !! I can but dream.

Glad you like it.

Cheers

Hi Mel,

Oh yes, I have the 3.91 gearing in my diff - got it done in January of this year (if memory serves me right). Just a shame I still have a bit of a whine in mine thanks to the only original bit, i.e the centre - it really annoys me at times. I even treated it to the Harrop diff cover for the bling factor. I am tempted to replace the diff centre with something like Gareth's - again funds not really allowing.

Very nice upgrade but you soon get used to it and get used to the "come on slow people carriers"

I have full coilovers, RRP and rear end pack and poly engine mounts etc but drive him quite gently. Would be interesting to compare at Thunder Road but I am sure you would wipe the floor with me.

Cheers
Steven

How do you find the gearing in 1st/2nd and 3rd?

Id love the Diff however have a major concern of shortening the first 3 gears anymore as traction can be an issue already and I can see 1st and 2nd being completely useless which removes from the driveability of the car!

We in the last six months we've had full Wortec system (headers, cat pipes, cat pipes, K&N filter) AKA Performance pack, Rip-shifter, AP Racing brakes. We finished off the current mods this week with 3.9 Diff and Road Response. I think that's enough for now. The cars totally transformed and i love it

Obviously i need to change earlier than before. 1st is pretty much just to get me rolling but then WOWyikes The cars much quicker.
Before looking at diff you need to think of getting that thing intercooled

I know I know but a diff wouldnt make any difference to engine temps would it

Think I may explore changing the box ratios as I like 2nd and 3rd gears as they are and making 2nd shorter is going to make it useless to me as I think it would make the car highly unpredictable traction wise.

Hi AfterShock,

Only problem I have with traction is in the snow, 1st pointless and 2nd is just spin spin. But then again its not a good car in the snow anyway. Although have since put the 19" VZ Ute wheels on and Pilot Sport 2 tyres so that will probably make it worse !! Which is not good as live on a large hill. Generally makes 1st a fast get away and starting gear then 2nd for normal stuff.

Hi Mel,

Yes, Helen and I are staying at the same hotel so I am sure will bump into you (so to speak) in the car park. I can imagine being in the room, hearing a V8 turn up and all wondering to the windows Oh your car will be lighter in weight that mine due to soundproofing (make is nice and quiet though). But performance wise should be very close.

Cheers
Steven
