Private Plates. Cool or Cock?

So do you think they are cool or make the driver look like a cock? I saw a guy in a yellow Gallardo yesterday with the roof down. His number plate was "EG0 2 BIG", which while accurate made him look like a complete tit.

I bought one years ago (B16 PGF) because I thought it was cool. However, I realised very quickly it made me look like a cock. Now I have a "normal" plate.

All depends on what they are I think.

The one you mention just shouts 'look at me, look at me' whilst others might just be someones initials and doesn't stand out quite so much.

I think it's fine if you get something that means something to you, or the car and you don't try to be clever with it. I also think it depends on the car. I see so many crap cars with personal plates and I think "that plate must have cost more than the bloody car".

Things like V8 HSV or VXR are cool. Nicknames and stuff are fine. It's when people get silly ones that it looks stupid. For example EG0 2 BIG just comes off as knobish no matter what car you put it on. Might as well have P3 NIS or M1 NGE. From looking around at plates, I bet it cost him a pretty penny to get that and look more of a bellend. In fact, he should have just bought B311 END

I would have T3 MPY in a second if I could get it. It's been my nickname for years. I would have anything like that H01 DEN, or V8 CVZ etc.

I think it all comes down to personal taste though. Why does B16 PGF make you look like a cock? What does it mean? To be fair, the only person who thought you looked a cock is probably you. Snap out of it man.

I have lots of friend and a missus, but decided to go to the cinema on my own recently. I agonised over it for ages, thinking that people would think I was billy no mates. No one batted an eyelid when I eventually went. There was even other people on their own there. I spoke to my mates afterwards and half of them said they do it all the time. They love it. No doris whispering to them all the way through "who's that man?, why's he doing that?, what's in that box?". Bliss It's all in your head Wormus. Embrace the plates!

As a few have said it depends on what it says. On my merc i have K55 MJV because its my initials and was cheap. At the time Col had a 740i BMW with K55 CJM so they kind of matched. On the ro Col has his other plate G12 COL which i don't think makes him look a knob.
Some really suit the owners like Stiggy has W4NKR. Cant think of anything better for him

It was great. It was a day off work, so I treated myself to a Subway, then buggered off home to play xbox360 like a big kid.

It was a rare occasion. Most of my flex days off these days are spent going to Monkfish.
