Or to be more specific a VXR8 with a Wortec exhaust on loud setting?

If so did it get through the static (101db) and drive by (87db) noise tests?

From experience of Bedford with careful use of the throttle you may just scrape the static test but you will then get black flagged when you venture out.

Yes, thats my concern. I used to go there a few years back, never had any issues but witnessed enough cars being black flagged to be concerned.

If anyone has been in VXR8 I would be interested to know how you got on.

I went there with my old Ro with full wortec set up (inc. headers) before they did loud and quiet options and I believe teh standard set up equated to the quiet set up and I received teh three strikes and you're out. Basically you have to be wary of the mics, what gear you are in and how hard you press the pedal which was frustrating and distracting when you get in the groove.

I owuld imagien a VXR8 on loud (having heard one) will trigger the mics all over the place and most probably on 'quiet' as well.

Yep,been there twice with me Evo and a loud 109db note from the exhaust.

The only thing you need to do is upshift to a highter gear when behind the pits as theres a mic there and also one at the front of the pits, just keep the revs lower and you want set them off and get black flagged.
There are no others around the rest of the track.

I got told off once then after not flooring it passed the sound mics i had fun for the rest of the day

Enjoy.

Its the local's taking the fun out if it, however there are'nt many trackdays where you'll be allowed over 98-100db

The loud setting on the VXR8 is claimed at 102db, but I measured it at just under that.

The bark on the overrun is another matter of course so subjectively seems louder than that. I took a 102db porker down there a few years back, and there was no issue at all with the drive by, but I suspect the VXR8 may be different.

May need to get the spanners out and change it to quiet !!

On quiet you'll have no problem. Was measured 87db at 4500rpm at Cadwell Park then switched it to loud when out, but they have no static mics on track so a different issue.

Cadwell is my local and regular track, never had a problem there either wink

They even let me sound check at 4000rpm when I went in the R8 because I was still running it in smile
