Only had my 5.7 for a day, done about 150 miles, have noticed in first gear when pulling away you get a whining sound, sounds like gearbox whine, is this quite normal, would it be worth an oil change in gearbox, if so how easy is it to do and what oil is recomended.

Is there a technical proble part to this forum? or are these cars normally trouble free?

This is the entirety of the forum. Can't see changing the gearbox oil helping whining.

My gearbox has always had a slight whine under acceleration, i just put it down to part of the car's character, it's never been a problem and it's only got low miles on the clock. Plus it's been serviced by Monkfish and they would of mentioned it if it was out of the ordinary, so it doesn't bother me. smile

I suppose you got to expect a bit of box whine considering the torque that is going throught it.

Are the thrust race bearings a concern on these cars? I do get a slight thrust race bearing whistle on cold start ups gear changes.
