Rattle from gearbox

I've noticed recently a rattle like loose metal in the gearbox under the selector. If I am stationary and give it revs it is obvious but it also seems to happen under load when changing gears. Anyone else experienced the same before I go back to Vauxhall?

I'll get her up on the ramps and have a look as its a pain to get to an authorised dealer, I mean that really is a stupid bloody thing from vauxhall.

My Bathy makes a horrible rattle under moderate acceleration through the gears. So much so I have lifted the centre console and stuffed bubble wrap inside. What is noticeable is, it is acceptable while the oil (ATF) is cold but as soon as it warms up the transmission becomes, IMO unacceptably noisy. Strangely there is no noise in sixth gear. My old R8 wasn't quiet but nowhere as bad as this, just wondering if there is an additive that might help somewhat.
