Hi Guys,

I have an interesting problem and I'm hoping you good people can help me before I start making calls to Vauxhall.

I have a CV8 Monaro 5.7 2005 and some of the electric functions on the driver's seat have stopped working. For eg, When you pull the leaver to let people in or out of the back, the seat no longer moves forward automatically, so you have to use the slider to make it move. And the other problem is that the function to incline and recline the seat has also stopped working.

Have I done something wrong or is this a common ailment of these seats?

Have you checked the fuses? Also check under the seat, it could be a wiring issue? If there are no obvious faults then you probably need to talk to the fish.

The Fish?

I have raised the seat as far as it will go and jiggled the wires about. I've even taken the back off the seat and checked the jiggled the motor but nothing doing. I was going to check the current but I'm managed to lose my multimeter. Is there a 2 fuses for the seat's electrics? I would have thought that 1 fuse handled it all? I might be wrong though.

If ever a thread actually needed moving, it's this one! Should be in the Monaro forum, not Engines & Drivetrain!

confused Easy chap! It was in Engines & Drivetrain, hence me saying that it "Should be in the Monaro forum, not Engines & Drivetrain". Not that hard to work out, is it?

Does it sound like the motor is making a noise though?

There is a spring that attaches to the motor, on mine, sometimes it comes loose especially if someone puts a map or something under the seat.
