Asking as the search doesn't seem to want to return any results currently!

The centre bit of the spoiler on the boot of my VXR looks like it has come loose and scraped the paint away as it moved up and down. I cant take it to bits to see whats happened till Sunday, so can anyone tell me if its a common problem and just needs to be tightened or does something bust? Ta

They all do that.
The only fix is a DIY one with eith a custom cut rubber seal or a bit of helicopter tape. Its on my to do list

It is, as far as I know, quite common as the centre pillar bit isn't supported so it tends to rub the paint away. As a temporary fix, I took the spoiler off and put some silver tape over mine till I get it done proper. If you want to get the spoiler off, open the boot and remove all the plastic lugs. There's about 45,000,000 of them. Then with the inner liner off there's a couple of bolts. It really needs another bolt through the boot and into the central bit really. Best thing to do I think is to use some sort of foam backing. That'll probably do it.

I think the best way to cure the problem is to remove the spoiler and sell it to me biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Had the same problem with mine, the paint was badly scratched where the centre post fits. I removed the spoiler and the foam strips that are supposed to hold the spoiler off of the bootlid and replaced them with some inner tube cut to suit. Problem solved!
