Send them to a mates address labeled Xmas gift
You still need to pay all import duty / vat etc, even on gifts and if customs pick it up coming through, it's down the the person receiving it, not the sender, to ensure the package is labelled correctly, cost of contents etci dont think there is i no set weight but for a suggestion golf bags travel free remember regrdless of whats in there i got a box of stuff sent over personal belongings and other stuff didnt get charged any duty as everything had been used once wasnt new it all weighed 200 kgs and took 6 weeks to arrirve on dublin docks and yes there were car parts in there went in signed a bit of paper away i went

Correct, no limit on hand luggage. I have brought brake disks through before. You get a weird look at security.. but they let me on.
Your right on the strange looks from security. I've been through with all manner of parts in either my suitcase or in hand luggage. Usually end up having to take it out so they can have a look.. Normal response is WTF is that and what's it from / do? Brief explanation and away you go.If sent as a gift then there should be no problems with tax and or duties. I've had loads of bit's sent from OZ over the years without any issues.
I would research hand luggage a bit more as I am pretty sure there are weight and size limits. If everyone took on 2 brake discs the thing wouldn't get off the ground!
