Dear LawrenceF,
cling film temporarily?
Or is this a really bad suggestion and it is dissolved by brakefluid?
regards,
Jet
No, cling film's OK, with an elastic band to hold it in place. It wont cope well with the large variation in fluid volumes though, so consider it a very temporary fix, just to keep the dirt out.cling film temporarily?

Contact the fish or WP they should have spares at hand.

Got one on the way from Vauxhall, but it's been off for a few weeks! Fluid level is OK, just need to get it all out and re-bleed it all when the cap turns up.
Disagree. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, so absorbs water. When this happens, the efficiency is lower, and it will also boil at a lower temperature. The fluid will therefore need a complete change, once you get the cap.If any fluid has sloshed on any paintwork, you need to wash it off as soon as you can.
