I tried to change the drivers mirror to the new wide angle one today, I gave up in the end, the mirror would not pop off! mad in the end I thought I had buggered up the motor mechanism as the motor would not go from left to right, in the end after a lot of pushing by hand and opp the button it decided to work, so gave up.

I'm used to working with metal and plastic is just to flimsy, if anyone has done this before and going to the dyno day on the 21st perhaps I should bring it with me and we can do it together biggrin

I've done mine. I never found it hard to do, its just a bit scary taking a huge screwdriver to the ro. I'm sure someone could give you a hand if your still stuck. Just make sure the new mirror is on properly as mine wasn't the first time and it fell off.

Leaf Blower, I changed mine on my Monaro VXR and the mirror popped off really easy, I was very surprised, are you doing the right thing? I read the instructions and found them a little confusing, in the end I pushed the mirror in towards the car as far as possible and up as far as possible as the instruction detail, then with a tourch looked up and under the mirror, you will see a little slot that looks like a little letter box at about 5 o'clock, get the biggest flat head screw driver you have that will fit in the slot, push the flat head of the screw driver into the little slot and then just twist the screw driver, the mirror should just pop off, if this does not work, I'm sure someone at dyno day will do it for you. smile

I tried all what you suggested, even with a big screw driver, perhaps my drivers are toooo big LOL

I did guess that it meant 5 o clock and not the 7 o'clock as per instructions, even got a torch involved but the bd would not pop off, I was thinkin of having another go tomorrow but may leave it to the dyno day,

I found changing the mirror a real mission. In the end the whole mirror, backing and drive all come out. I still found the mirror difficult to separate from its mount.

The new mirror is so much better than the original.
