I've been doing some shopping for exhausts. I've checked out the Wortec, walkinshaw, etc. I have some questions for the forum. The wortec is $1100 fitted plus extra for the electric switchable, then add more if you go the sport pac route and add a re-map. I can get a magna-flow catback through nemesis for $700.

I don't want to simply go the cheap route - I want to build it right. Is the wortec really that much better? Is it good enough to justify nearly 3 times the cost (when adding re-map and electric switching)?

Also, does anyone have the LSV X-force Varex exhaust? The video for that is awesome! I have Nick there checking for me but I've heard nothing back from him as of yet.

Thanks for any information.

Dont waste your money on the electric switch as you will always leave it on LOUD !!!!!!!!!!

Thats that part done. Well i went for a custom made cat back system and the headers and sport cats cam from OZ.

Total price from OZ £1100 and £500 for my cat back.

But the Wortec and Walkinshaw are very very good systems and i think the Walkinshaw exhaust sounds better. Im sure 007 will be along in a sec and tell you as i think thats where his is from.

Give monkfish and rapid gb a call and see what prices they are doing.

And in OZ where i got my headers and cats. Its listed as a Holden VZ

hi..smile

i did have the walkinshaw exhaust .but was not happy with what was put on my car ...now have wortec hedders and cats ,and just the back box is still walkinshaw custom quad exit, i have only kept this bit as the sound is deeper than the wortec exit pipes..

dont forget to factor in the cost of a re map when you are looking at the prices ..i would also say dont bother with the switchable one..loud all the way biggrin

the wortec hedders and cats ,work much better power wise and nosie
...all this is of course only IMO smile (but proven with my car) yes

I'm with 05 GTO on this one, but surley if you leave the wortec exhaust system on loud it would make the car a real pain on a long drive? maybe even on a short one, once the novelty value has worn off.
Having said that the electric switch is a great idea, but bloody hell it's expensive!

We don't find it a pain on a long journey. It sound awesome. We didn't bother with the switch as someones already said its always on loud. Wolfracer said one if he'd have had the switch fitted it would have rusted in the loud positionhehe
However each to there own. Walkinshaw sounds good but IMHO Wortec sounds amazingcloud9 Its far rawer and raspier IMO of course

Have a look on e-bay and search "monaro" there is a company on there advertising a cat back stainless steel exhaust made to your sound choice for £599 ?? i think, it's def not far off that price. If your simply after noise and are not interested in getting something that says Wortec on it, and let's face it, it is a lot of money for some stainless steel tubing, might be worth a phone call/visit.

Full Wortec with headers on loud, wasn't a problem on an 800 mile round trip with three adults and my 2.5 year old.

The only reason I'd get the electric bit, is if you need to drive at un-sociable hours.

If you have a GTO (ie, left hand drive) then none of the UK or Aussie supplied headers will fit. You will have to source them from the states

I've been looking in to the X-Force Varex myself and would also like to know if anyone's had any experience with them?

There's some Jap ones on ebay, but wiring set up looks a bit ?
