Hi all,

I was just wondering what happened to the project of making up some steering wheel badges?

I seem to have lost the topic.

Many thanks.

Hi, I had some made up. Good quality, fair price.

Some pics of the transfer process if anyone is thinking about doing the same thing.

Get a screwdriver to prise up the original badge. I put some tape around the the exposed silver part (too late as I had already scratched it a bit).

This is what I was left with- the badges self adhesive stuff. I used some auto glym fast glass to get rid of the stickiest bits.

This is what I was left with once clean. Note the screwdriver scuff at the 1 o'clock position.
I got some sand paper to smooth the scuffed disc. the new badge shows the bumps quite a lot.
I also put some tape on the disc part to bridge over the circular ridges.

Taa Daah!!!! one nice HSV badge looking back at me.

I also did my side sills. using the same process.
Hope this helps.

Nick, if you are worried about those marks you left on the ring, I managed to get mine out quite nicely using some fine wet and dry paper from B&Q. I masked off the surrounding air bag cover and managed to smooth out all the screwdriver marks I had made.

Word of warning for anyone thinking about removing the old badge, take it easy with the screwdriver, or stick the new badge over the top.

As for the badges, I think this is a topic that is going to keep coming up unless we talk about it, so I think it's best we get some of this out in the open.

Holden/HSV AUS were not too keen on these badges, so asked to remove any posts concerning getting them made from this site, which was done. There are company's out there that will make anything you like if you ask them and although HSV.org.uk is in no way affiliated with any of these companies, they obviously cannot be seen to be condoning the manufacture of items baring a copyrighted company logo.

I think it was more about the commissioning of the items through the forum that was the issue, so if someone wants to post a link to the site it's up to them, but as Duncun Bannatyne would say "I'm out" rofl

Do not, whatever you do, use this site - it is a trademark breach, apparently.....
You have been warned...

Same badge I put on mine

To avoid damaging the silver ring I just pushed a screwdriver in to the middle of the Vauxhall badge and levered it out from the centre

Ok Tempy understood. I hadn't thought about that issue.

Can anyone remember who it was that was gonna do the badges then?
If I remember right it was a member from Edinburgh...something 5.7 or something like that?
