When when when is somebody going to bring a couple of V8 Supercars over here.A Commodore or a Falcon or both,I don't care which, blasting up the hill at Goodwood.OK maybe none of the current V8 Supercar drivers and cars could fit in the trip here, but surely there must be some of the older cars e.g. from the 02 series, standing idle down under, and there would be plenty of drivers here to drive them.
V8 Supercars is one of the best forms of motor racing in the world,it knocks BTCC and F1 into a cocked hat for spectacle.
Can't wait for the new season to start.

G'Day Mick,

Yes wouldn't we all love to see a V8 Supercar (pref, a Holden)over here to show this Country what race cars are suppose to be like !! Talk is there will be a V8 Supercar Street Race in Birmingham, Jan 2005 ?

Gary Rogers has brought over one of the 7 ltr Monaros from the Bathurst 24hr race. He has teamed up with VX Racing to run in the British GT Championship this year. www.emotional-engineering.co.uk/

Wayne (HRTHSVHoldenUK)& I will be trying to get a few people together to go and cheer the HOLDEN Monaro(with a V badge) on to victory.

I Live in Southampton so stay in-touch and we can meet up if you want to come along ok.

Catch ya L8r,
Rob.

Hi Rob
thanks for the reply. Didn't know about Garry Rogers and the 7ltr Monaro. Is this the same outfit that are entering the two Monaros in the British GT championship? The idea needs someone of Garry Rogers stature to to push it here. His team is quite prolific in V8 Supercars.Didn't he win Bathurst in '99 with Bargwanna and Tander? While i was in MLb last Feb,i went to Larry Perkins workshop and met the man, unfortunately he was too busy to show me around.I also met Glenn Seton, and Russell(The Enforcer) Ingall, now with SBR.He's got a lot of Euro & GB experience.Check out his web site.I've had a couple of email replies from him, great bloke.Someone else who could help would be TWR as he ran HSV and a couple of other Holden teams.I think ol' TW is keeping a low profile these days.Be great to see V8 Supercars in Brum.Where did you hear that?
Like V8HSV,i'm up the road from you in Waterlooville.I'll stay in touch mate.Is Wayne back from Aus?
Regards,Mick

G'Day Mick,
Yes it is THE Gary Rogers from Aust, but not sure if he is running two cars, I read that he was using one of the cars from the the 24hr last year. They should do well anyway!! with Gary behind the setup.
It was the Gary Rogers, Valvoline/Cummins sponsered car in 2000 with Garth Tander & Jason Bargwanna driving, that won Bathurst by 2.5 seconds over the Radisich & Bright Fxxd Fxxxxn. That year the Englishman Matt (nutter) Neal ran into the side of Lowndes/Skaife no1 Car which gave them a blow-out,to finish any chance they had of winning. They finished 6th. (I cheated & looked it up !)
Sorry to disagree with you about Ingall, but he Enforced a bit to much for my liking last race of the year. He also now drives a Fxxd.
Not sure who told me about the V8's in Birmingham, but there suposed to be a race in China this year then the one over here in 2005. But I hear the China one may be in doubt now. Have to wait & see.
There was a guy called Richard Wood running a ex HRT Car in the Formula Saloons www.formulasaloons.com/htm/results.htm He did well, won a few races, but not sure if he still runs the car.
catch ya L8r,
Rob.

I wish Id known about that round at donington in april.

Im only 5 mins down the road from Donington Park and would deffo have gone down to check the race, and the Monaro out.

I see Aaron Slight is driving for them...used to be a world superbike rider if I remember correctly.
