Picked up a stone chip in the windscreen this morn.
It's quite small at the moment but has potential to grow. It's similar to one i had in the astra that spread nicely in the duration of about 30 miles.

I'm gonna get autoglass to take a look to see if it can be repaired.

If it is a case of new windscreen do you have to order one with the sun strip in especially or do they come like that as standard?

Also any companies better than others.....or am i no longer allowed to ask that sort of question?

I seem to remember someone having one done before and there was an issue with the strip.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Nic.

Well your Fluxed, if you're insured with the same people as I am, don't hold your breath, it could be a while. I've waited six months up to now and still waiting. Auto ***** don't know their arses from their elbows when it come to these cars, in my experience anyway.

Ive had a windscreen broke in the past and after talking to the insurance was given a couple of numbers for companies... after talking to them and being told of a 2 week wait I rang the guys round the corner from me (literally) and they could get me one for the next day.

Re called my insurance and told them i was using the company round the corner to which they had no issue and was sorted, £50 excess and that was it.

Im sure my insurance was the same as the one your having the issues with as well Gareth.

Thanks for the recommendation. I can confirm that we can get a screen within twenty four hours and that we have several branches in the South East if you would like us to do the job.

If you can cover the chip with a pound coin and its bigger than a matchstick head they can probably repair it. Thats what Autoglass told me when they sorted mine out.

note of warning...

standard tint color is blue / green. autoglass only do a Green / Green tint which looks nasty in more ways then i can think to describe. they can supply a blue / green tint but it takes some work. as they will claim they cant get them and i can assure you they can as they got me one...... eventually
