Hello every one I am the new owner of a HSV VX1 number 003. I have had the car for a few weeks now and have been a bit slack in posting, as I have been moving house. I am really enjoying the car and am completely sold on V8's. I must admit I have not had the stereo on much as I have been listening to engine instead. Duncan Wort - Isle of Wight

Congrats on your car, had mine for nearly three years and never regretted it. You'll find the people on here helpful and friendly and have a look at www.hsvdriversclub.co.uk

You'll be needing and louder exhaust as soon as you start to have your radio on then..

My mate's white 1991 Z28 with twin black racing stripes was sold to a guy on the Isle Of Wight. Have you seen it at all or is that like an American asking if I know David Jones from Wales? LOL. (Never been to the Isle of Wight)

Hi Dunc
Where do you live on the Island mate? I'm just across the water but get over your way three or four times a year.(the outlaws are at Ryde). If there's the classic car meet on Ryde sea front like last year,i'll almost certainly go over. You would have to take the mean machine down there.Draw up some blurb about it to put on the windscreen and i'm sure it would attract a lot of attention. Last year there were some Corvette guys, one from Bristol!!, and some other classic yank iron. One guy turned up with some old Aussie/Brit car that had been converted into a ute (that do that a lot down there),can't for the life of me remember what it was. It's a good little show, but i'm sure you know about it anyway. If you know what date,or if it's on even, post it on here.
Great to know there's an HSV over there. You're the first. My brother in law will be on the phone to me as soon as he spots it.

I will find out about cheep accommodation I have a couple of friends who run B&B's. I have heard that there is a car show in Ryde and have found out that it is on Saturday 11 September & Sunday 12 September. I am in Cowes and can see the sea from my window by the way. I did see a white yank V8 a couple of weeks back but didn’t see what it was, I will keep my yes peeled and let you know if I see it.. As there are only around 130, 000 people on the blessed Isle out of the ordinary cars are a bit obvious.

Man, looks like this is V8 country down here. I'm in Portsmouth as well, been here for about 2 months. Should have a get together down here somewhere. Be good to have a look over a real car.

Miss my SS already.

G'Day Guys,

If you enter your car in the show on the Isle of Wight, I'm sure you get free Ferry travel for you the car & passengers.

The AACI Summer Nationals at Billing are on the weekend of Fri 18th to Sun 20th. Sandy Mercer (PHASE4)has arranged for the AusCCA (Australian Car Club Association)to have our own stand & roped of area. So me as the Rep for the Holden UK Register would like to know roughly how many Holdens are going so I Can let Sandy know.

I will start a new topic about the Show, if you want to bring your car along and put it into the Australian Car Stand, please let me know on that page and we can get an idea of how many cars we will have.

Many thanks,
Rob Apsey.

I think you're right about the I.O.W show Rob.I think Wightlink Ferries have something to do with it e.g sponsorship? Even if the crossing isn't free i'm pretty sure it's at a reduced rate. I'll try to find out about that one. What a turnout that would be,Holdens on the I.O.W. Maybe Picador could take the Monaro over as a sort of promo trip. There's an Aussie link too as there's a Cowes on the Island and one on Phillip Island in Victoria, just an HSV drive from the factory at Clayton. There's also North Ryde in NSW but that's just a tad further,(500mls or so) right Rob? For anybody staying over,I could work out an island tour with decent places to eat and visit. Should have a few months to sort that. Keep a look out in the I.O.W County Press Dunc. What colour is your car? I'll ask my bro-in-law to look out for it,he lives in E.Cowes.

My car is silver. I saw a feature for the Ryde show in the County Press over the weekend. I will give them a phone tomorrow and get the contact number for the organiser. Raggyman are you about on Sunday? Check out the thread on the Maidenhead on the 23rd the venue has changed to some where around Portsmouth if you are around and fancy it?
