Has anyone got the Pogo alert plus, if so what do they think of it?

I got the standard pogo. Think the plus has a higher resolution screen? Not a bad bit of kit bit fairly useless if you're a sensible driver as it simply warns of speed limits. Fixed camera location warning is okay but can be a bit hit and miss at times. Speed trap warnings will drive you nuts! And finally the laser detector is useless. Had it working, got nicked! Pants! As with all these sorts of devices, just choose which one suits your needs. I haven't had mine switched on for months now. Lotta money too! Hope this helps

I've got the Alert Plus, great bit of kit for me although I've never had to rely on the laser alert side of things. I bought one after getting sick of the proximity alerts that my TomTom with PocketGPSworld speedtrap POI's was throwing up. The Pogo only alerts you if you're actually travelling along the road that the camera is on (and in the right direction) rather than only when you're within a set distance of it. It also has a nice feature that tells you your average speed between any two SPECS cameras. I went with the Pogo as I'd had a Bluei and B2 that I'd been very happy with.

As with all laser detectors once its gone off they have already clocked you, the only way round it is to get one of those garage door openers wink but they are a bit of a grey area, got one on my Monaro as it came already fitted, problem is i don't have a garage laugh

I still have the Origin B2 GPS speed camera detector http://www.pogo-gps.co.uk/origin_b2.php snowwolf if you wanted to borrow it, don't use it anymore as i have tomtom + cameralert on my ipod touch smile

I've been looking at the Snooper 3Zero, looks pretty good with GPS for fixed locations, laser & radar detection for mobile from 1 mile. Never used one though so can't say for sure.

I decided to buy one this morning, fitted it today, nice little unit and sits up next to re view mirror I had a little drive out after and quite impressed to be honest, not been able to try it out with the lazer part yet but will see how it fares when I go to Devon tomorrow from Rochester Kent

Just to let you know I covered 700 miles in last few days and really glad I bought the Pogo Alert plus, Funny thing is, I never once come across a camera speed van to test out the laser part!!! bloody typical

If you reduce your speed quick enough there is a small chance they wont do you, hopefully, plus it will have warned you that you was coming up on them before they can even see you.

Not really, the laser detectors go off when a laser hits them (when the police have aimed the speed gun at your car), if your slightly over the speed limit then yes you may be quick enough to slow down

I meant that in its data base of known police camera vans that it will have warned you long before that there could be a van over the hill or around the corner, if I had had the device last month I would not have worried for two weeks waiting for the NIP to not arrive, as I would have slowed down.

Yer your right, think they are always going to be new places coming up all the time, just make sure the device you buy is very good at updates and easy to do, or you wont want to be bothered doing it, I have a navman sat nav and its a dire when you have to update the speed camera data base, the pogo does it in seconds, also you can call them and very helpfull too which is handy, when I tried calling Navman I gave up!!!

I have a front parking sensor that has an uncanny knack of jamming the laser signal of the speed guns! As it came fitted to my car which I bought from a main dealer I shall plead ignorant if questioned!

have you found that it works? I did think about that one as its the same price as the one I got, have read somewhere on here a guy got done for having a garage door jammer on his car and not actually have a auto garage door at home, think it was 1k fine.

Any links to this parking sensor as my parking is terrible and cannot judge where the front of the car is wink
