Moif, how long did it take to receive these from Australia? Also, what were the shipping charges like? I'm thinking about getting a set of these as well so any guidance you can pass my way will be appreciated.

There is a user on the other forum looking for a set too.

If it helps your calculations - it cost me £7.55 to send a set to Paul via RoyalMail (next day deliv, recorded and insured).

Sounds fine to me. I'll drop him an email a bit later on today and I'll let you know what he says.

Out of interest, what rating bulb would you be after?

No problem - I should have stated that bit in my original post. I've emailed the company and I'll let you know what they come back with.

I believe they only do the 4300k (which I got), 6000k, and 8000k. Same price for 4.3k and 6k - not sure about the 8k.

Just remember, the lower the number the higher the light output, 4300k in mine, no regrets.

4000-5000k gives you the most light output on the road. The bluer they get, the dimmer too!

Abut how long did the whole job take?

I got my kit from HIDs-direct a couple of weeks ago and haven't fitted as (it often happens) these things take much longer than anticipated!

Thanks, Steve

About an hour for the "stealth" version from Oz that Donk just fitted (see images at the foot of page1). Most of that time is removing the front wheel and oart of the arch liner though : provides bynfar the best access.

Ok thanks for the estimate - no doubt I'll end up pressure washing under the wheel arch while the wheel is off, then I'll clean the back of the wheel - which will show up the others, so about 2 hours of cleaning too, ha ha.

I fitted the 55W HID kit yesterday and am most impressed with the illumination they give. I drove along some very dark country roads last night but these gave a good view of the road ahead.

I found fitting was a bit fiddly and removing the wheel and arch liner on the drivers side made the job stright forward. I wish I had done that first on the near side, I messed about for too long getting the airbox out.

Thanks for the hints and tips I got here.

Steve

PS my drivers-side wheel is all clean on both inside and outside now too :-)
