Discussion
I have had a search on this particular topic but didn't really find an answer. The car I have just bought needs new front shocks. So this is an ideal opportunity to upgrade. Have narrowed my search down to 3 choices just wondering what the general consensus is as being the best option
1 - Gaz gold pro
2 - Nitron racing reds
3 - protech
Only really want to spend about £700 ish as I have lots of other things to buy (see my other threads)
Thanks

This topic is hard to close on. Unless someone has used all of these, and the more expensive 'full fat' Nitrons, Ohlins etc. on a similar car then each owner will probably have experience of 1 or 2 of these at most, often which the 'old' ones being past their best, thus exxagerating the 'improvement' of the new parts.
Personally I think the springs need to be changed for something decent, also go for springs/shocks on all 4 corners and a decent geo setup.

Got Full Fat Nitrons on the Tamora, the car feels really planted to me but had'nt much to compare it to, but my mate drove the car when we were at Lemans last year and he's driven quite a few with standard setup and said it was loads better (he's just bought a Tam and has ordered some Nitrons from Power, think they come in at £1080 including Eibach springs), also another friend bought ome Gaz Golds for his Tam and changed within a year to Nitons.....

OK Smarty pants.... I have got Mono tubes with one single adjustment for bump & rebound (gas filled, i assume this is what you reffer to as semi-skimmed?) not Racing Reds (which i assume are oil filled?)
Not sure i'd know what to do with 3 ways????????

Full fat are surely the three way adjustable race dampers... We've gone semi-skimmed with the two ways.
Should be fun!

Not driven the same actual car but have driven two T350 - mine with Ohlins 3-way adjustable and one with standard (but albeit nearly new) and the former are in a completely different league.
Having said that, I drove the standard one first and was very impressed - new and a proper set up can count for a lot.

Sorry, didnt mean it in a smarty pants way... I completely agree though, we wouldnt know where to start with three way adjustables, two way will be a steep enough learning curve. As has now been mentioned, in the scheme of things, this is still the lower end of the market for suspension, albeit, the higher end for TVRs generally. Ohlins three ways, blimey, bet they cost a fair whack!

No offence taken! As has now been mentioned, in the scheme of things, this is still the lower end of the market for suspension, albeit, the higher end for TVRs generally. Ohlins three ways, blimey, bet they cost a fair whack!
I'm sure you could spend £3K + on some trick 3 way remote reservoir Olins and i'm sure they would be better that Nitrons (if they were setup right) but as with all these things it becomes a law of diminishing gains for the Extra $$$
What i was trying to say in my original post was that from the experience of my own car and friends cars the Nitron Mono tubes are worth the extra £300!
Unfortunately proper full on Nitrons were are bridge to far i don't doubt them to be superior to the gaz gold pros or racing reds.
If i could have got the Nitrons for a bit extra i would have BUT the price difference isn't £300. The Nitrons cost double the amount of the Gaz gold Pros (£600 extra)
