As some have asked about this in the past I thought I'd share a few videos...I'll upload the 'after' video when I get the car back.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JehFCRA2p4E

The car is stock exhaust with cats and JP backbox at this point. First time on the road in 4 months, god I've missed driving this car so much words can't describe.

Ive just had mine decatted, same setup as yours.
One of the best value things you can do, reduces in cabin drone and my god its savage on full throttle!
The pops and bangs are verging on weapons grade once the cats are off!

What equipment did you use to film that, out of interest?

And the after....

As DumDum says, 'weapons grade' sums it up. Much more fun in every way.

I recorded it using my old POV1 mounted on the front bumper and the high gain mic is velcro'd to the rear number plate back.

Me likey! One of the better videos for sound on youtube, captured it nicely. Mine is decat with standard exhaust and there's definitely more popping and louder volume overall with yours

Out of interest which decats did you buy. Ive seen 2or3 different ones and they vary in price quite a bit.

I'll do an exhaust focused camera view in the next few days all being well. I went for the ACT decats, they're very light next to stock, very simple and they were cheap. My wife ordered them Monday and they arrived Wednesday I think, excellent service.

As everyone else has said so far, the difference in performance = negligable, the difference in noise and grin factor = massive smile

That sounds brilliant. I might try and do the same with mine (ACT decat/TVR Power back box) for comparison - in fact if we had videos of the various set ups it would help answer a lot of the usual questions.

That was the idea Pursy, ideally you'd need the same mic setup to be accurate but anything is better than nothing. Would love to hear your setup although I wouldn't change mine even if yours is like Jesus making sweet love to my ears smile

Is it just me or does the Tamora sound better than just about any other car on the road.. Inc all other TVR's.. I was comparing all the different exhaust notes at chatsworth and the Tams defo sounded the best, Even before the de-cat it sounded fantastic.. Just wish I could get my Tuscan S to sound anywhere near as nice as that and I would be a very happy man.
Enjoy.

No need to change, it sounds awesome, weather permitting i'm going to try and do a video this weekend with Kevin63, hopefully it will be something worth posting.

My POV1 is a bit knackered, the video used to be better quality but the bullet cam is failing I think. On the sound front, TVR's just sound better than anything else on the road, they blow all the exotica into the weeds on the soundtrack front smile

That's the 3.6 S6.

It is beautifully sweet and with it's shorter stroke it is more revvy.

The result is a higher pitch bark that climbs more quickly to the crescendo.

In my opinion it is the best version of the engine. It may have less power and torque but just the sweetness of it and the way it drives and the way you have to drive it is sublime.

It is an excellent example that power isn't everything it is just part of the package and sometimes other factors are stronger.

I think that each time this engine is stroked it loses a bit of it's magic as it gets turned into a more torquey, less revvy engine like a RV8.

My belief is that the 3.6 with RG's FFF2 head and cams and Syvecs chip will rank among one of the greatest straight six engines on record and be the best drivers engine a TVR has ever seen.

You'll have the torque of a 4L but spread over a wider range and it will rev its nuts off.

Well i'm afraid this was the best we could come up with. Shot on an IPhone as the 3 other cameras we tried were a FAIL. It really doesn't give any sense of the engine note, but does at least let you hear the pops even if they sound about 6 octaves too high LOL.

What part of the motorway is that? I like the underpass bit.

Looks like Sheffield near meadowhall... Could be mistaken though!

Cheers, it's Tinsley viaduct running under the M1 at Junction 34. Truth is you wouldn't be dissappointed with either exhaust, but prospective buyers need to hear them in the "flesh" to get the full effect.
