after a few people thought that the new cans I make didn`t fill the gap at the back of the car enough, I thought I`d play around with some bits and bobs, and came up with these big fellas, they are 4" diameter, shorter than the other cans, and just empty, nothing inside them at all.

just been out for a spin and so far I`m quite pleased with them, because the 4" pipe is empty they act like megaphones in a way, very bassy, louder pops and bangs, but not chavy like a lads vauxhall novahehe the test will be the drive down to goodwood tomorrow morning, and see what the exhaust note is like at cruise speed.

not everyones cup of tea, but welcome to comments good and bad.

Not bad, not bad at all smile

Personally, I think they could be just a bit longer, but that's just my opinion.

Looking good anyway.

Clive you are a LEGEND matey. Having characters like you around playing with bits and bobs makes TVR ownership even more special.

Would love to see them a little longer, 4/6 inches longer always helps!

Can,t wait to hear them.

Just 4 the record guys Graeme has just this evening finished detailing the Sag. He is also a Legend and I would happily recommend him to anyone who,s looking for a top Detailer. The man has put so much effort into the car, as if it was his own. I honestly can't recommend him enough. A top fella even though he is a SCOTSMAN!

I hope I don,t spoil all his hard work by the time the car gets to Tag.

I would post the pictures up but I am useless at it.

Sorry for jumping off subject.

As above, a couple of inches longer and they would look very nice. See you a little later at Tagthumbup

I think if you draw a line from the bottom of the wing to the tip of the under tray and align the outside edge of the exhaust pipe with that, that'd be ideal. Oh, and perhaps the pipe itself could do with another inch diameter? Would love to hear what you've done anyone, any chance of a recording?

I`ve been busy with people asking to hear the car at the tag event today, what with the new pipes and the modded back box, so I`ll get the video camera out and 3 different end can versions and do some film and put it up on utube.

Only my personal opinion, after much looking at the original pic, then looking at the rear of mine. No more than an inch, I do like the way it shows more of the tyre, and as for a more bassy note and louder pops and bangs, I'm thinking it's time for a change.
Each to their own but thumbup from me, nice work.

right, I am goint to cut, and lengthen these today, after measuring up last night if I make them 45mm longer, the outer edge of the pipe will be in line with the outer edge of the bottom tray, if I lengthen by 70mm the pipe will poke out through the end of the bottom tray 25mm, to be honest, I like to see more of the tyre myself, but will go with a mojority vote to see what it looks like, so you`ve got until 1.30pm to voice your opinions, before the disc cutter comes out!hehe

I rekon the 45mm option would be best, bringing the end of the Can to the outer edge of the undertray, thus still leaving most of the tyre visable from the rear viewthumbup
Good work Mateyhehe

Who's up early this morning?

Just a quick one Clive. If you look at the picture at the very top of the post, it appear's that the can on the right is virtualy level with the outer of the bottom tray. Then in the angled shot it appears that the can is far from level.

The question I have is: When standing from the raer of your car, dead centre, do the end of the cans appear to be 45mm too short.

If I am allowed to join in I would vote for the same length as the originals if not longer. If they do not stick out they look a bit sad, the carbon can company ones look too short as well and if you put extensions on them you can then see them on the inside.

When the exhaust fills all the gap it looks great. I like the shape you have created clive.
