To remove and replace a dodgy door release selenoid, is it a case of removing the three screws from the door catch mechanism on the body of the car?
Yes and the hex bolts behind the plate. The three small screws are likely to be stuck so will need drilling out and re-tapping into to the body. (use slightly bigger ones). The plate might also be stuck in place with silicone so you will need a wide flat scraper to remove it so you don't bend it.

You might also need to take the trim panel off the side to get at the back of it, don't know how this comes off as I have only needed to work on the micro switch which can be done from the front.
