Afternoon All,

New rubber all round for me, anyone got any idea's on the cheapest place to get hold of both front and rear Toyo T1-R's? Ideally I'd like to buy from one place that also has fitting options.

Blackcircles seems competitive for the rears but they don't have the front's - anyone got any alternatives?

Chris.

T1-R are no longer made so are like rocking horse poo. The new version is called Sport IIRC but I don't think the tread pattern looks as good, can't comment on their performance (although it has been discussed on another thread. R1-R's look quite sexy and there is a good discount if you are a TVRCC member Rears come in at about £140 each

Thanks Shep - I see you can't get the T1S/Sport in the front's and yes I agree the tread doesn't look great.

Where do you get the TVRCC discounted R1-R's? I may look into it.

Have found T1-R's on Tyredrive for around £500 in stock and delivered.

P.S Do I need the XL on the rear's? (Toyo 235/40R18 TOYO PXT1-R 95Y XL)

Camskill offer 20% off R888 & R1-R prices + free delivery for TVRCC members. XL is 'extra load' each tyre has a maximum loading corner weight (sorry if you already know this) you can look this up but I would guess this is not nessasary for TVR as its not heavy assuming an equal 4:4 split.

I think XL refers to a load rating - check on Toyo's website.

I got rears a couple of weeks ago from etyres.co.UK fitted at home. Not the cheapest but convenient. They don't do the front T1-Rs though.

Not tempted to go to 255/35/18 at the rear?

Gives a fair bit more traction IMO.

Definitely does, looks far better, 235 just looks undernourished!

Would they fit on the standard rims though? I thought you had to go for the wider spiders for that size of rubber?
