Kevlar parcel shelf inserts...finally ish
Discussion
Although it looks like I've royally f
ked up the passenger side shelf. The good news is the drivers side is done

The amazing thing (and why we all love handbuilt cars) is that both sides are totally different and don't actually fit very well at all! So out of disaster, hopefully something good will come from the need to make my own bespoke parcel shelf inserts...watch this space.
Has anyone else had any luck? Kevlar is a total t
t to work with!

Next is me trying to rebuild and then skin the passenger side parcel shelf (no joy on getting one so far).
Once I've done that I'm going to try skinning Geoffs binnacle that he left with me in carbon for the top section and kevlar for the inside of the binnacle.

Thanks Crimbo.
I've never toyed with this stuff before (carbon/kevlar) but have used FRP in the past and ofcourse lots of dirty oily things on my old track car.
The passenger side parcel shelf WAS in the bin, in about 10 pieces (don't ask) but due to not being able to get another one, I've resurrected it but a section is missing between the curved end and the circular tip that sits under the transmission tunnel so I'm having to make that out of FRP

Evening Geoff!
She's been out a few times until the rain started again (just when I taxed the car...)
I think we'll need to get our thinking caps on for the dash itself, the binnacle however I feel fairly confident with, the parcel shelves were a nightmare due to the curves/bends
as soon as you got the cloth to the front curve near the trans tunnel it would kink and the weave would go out, would you believe I've used 1m sq so far to do ONE.
