You need to remove the diff and change the crown wheel & pinion. There is a fair amount of labour and you should replace the bushes at the same time. Around £800-£1200. Any specialist will know how to source the required parts and be able to do it. Mine was 3.91'd by Topcats near Aylesbury.
John Reid at Readman Racing (Grantura Engineering).

John is THE man where diffs are concerned. He runs the Dunlop TVR Challenge race series too and was the TVR Factory Racing big cheese back in the good old days.

John is where i sourced my 3.08 ratio diff for mine, it was a motorsport one with longer flatter teeth than the one i broke.
The broken one, which in all fairness lasted 2 years of abuse, was sourced from Ebay Australia as the ones from Holdens fit TVR BTR/Dana diffs.
I am refering to the Crown wheel and pinion here, as i am still using my original casing.
John supplied all the bits needed to put it together.

I've got a 3.73 in my tuscan and enquired about having it changed to 3.91 only to be told that it can be done but it won't work properly as it would be noisy and not as strong.
I was told ideally i need a tuscan 2 diff
Almost sounds unbelieveable....
Any ideas?

It's almost unbelieveable....
Speak to John Reid, it will be done correctly, competitively priced and turned around quite quickly.

Definitely possible, and will not be any more noisy etc. However, do you really need one if you have a 4.0? I have a 3.91 in my 3.6 engined car and it is great, but that is because it has less torque low down, I suggest you'd feel much less difference 1. coming from a 3.73 and 2. having the increased low down torque of a 4.0L.I was told ideally i need a tuscan 2 diff
Almost sounds unbelieveable....
Any ideas?
