I have recently advertised my Tamora for sale with a well known dealer in the south, I have found out that it needs some attention. It requires a top engine rebuild and a new radiator and some other bits, I would like to sell the car and put funds to another project and need some advise on how much to advertise the car for with a realistic price so that it sells.
The car comes with a fantastic portfolio all mots/services ect and its bright orange.

Thanks

Personally I'd say you should get it repaired before sale. Most people don't want to buy a broken car.

Remember, there are other places to take the car for preparation and subsequent sale, not just Racing Green. My favourite is Srt8Six if that helps.

There are people who want broken cars, thats how I got a couple of mine but I would also pay quite a low price for one. If I was to buy a non runner Tamora I would be looking at £6 to 7k. I would spend the time doing it up if you want good money for it and get a few more quotes for the work.

There are people out there who want a fked car, just like there are people who want a ruined property. But they are a much smaller number than those who want something that is all ready to go now. And they are wanting the screwed product mostly at a hefty discount.

As such, I would never attempt to sell a car with any niggles if I wasn't looking to just job it out well under market.

It's a tough market at the moment anyway and we are nearing the end of the driving season so I'd be tempted to get it all fixed over winter and put it up for sale with a nice new engine warranty in the Spring.

The big issue is that buyers don't really know how much work would be needed and would be wary. It looks like a head gasket, but might end up being a £5k rebuild. Hence their valuation/offer will be lower than it may need to be. Hence why I say fix it, then sell it.

Fixing it might mean spending circa 10K then selling for 16K (if you find somoene else who loves the interior that is)so you have to weigh up is selling it for 7K or 8K a good option as is?

What he said..... Power's and Str8 Sixes warranties are transferable. Jason or Dom might well have someone who's looking for one when you come to sell it.
