Lol, how do you know "the payout was 27k"???

Funny, I spoke to the guy today, no mention of chassis damage, "you could drive it straight to a body shop"

How is the chassis bent if the exterior damage looks so minimal? (Genuine question, not having a go)

I know it very well. Its my mates cherished Tamora and he wrote it off on the way back From TAG11 in June.He left the road after hitting gravel coming of a roundabout and spun off into a gully and landed on top of a small stone wall which bent the chassis the car went to a friend of ours who runs a race pre business in Winsford and confirmed the damage to the chassis as did the insurance company who paid him out in July The car was written off as a class C

If you want any more info drop me a line with any questions

I'd stay away unless you want to replace the chassis but the rest of the car is mint engine and the gearbox had just got a new clutch along with a 12000 service ready for our european trip

Read their disclaimer on the advert. 'we don't drive them or repair them just sell em' there may be more damage than is visible. Might need alignment.....

I give it 24hrs before the advert goes.

Was my car and if the damage had only been cosmetic I’d have kept it....

Ins payout was just over 1/2 what the guy is claiming as the car had previously been a Cat C!

My mate who runs the garage where it was taken to be looked at for the ins advised me that it'd need a new chassis as the front rails were bent & that there could possibly be more damage underneath..... I was surprised as it does not look that bad.

Was gutted as it'd just had £2K spent on 12K service & new clutch!

Also while i think on there was some damage to the hood that isn’t mentioned on the ad.....

Just beware that’s all I’m saying, I’d hate for anyone to buy it with there eyes closed!!!!

Forgot to mention that the steering rack was also damaged so if buying check that this has not been bodged!

Its amazing how they get around this info, there is another "person" in the north east who deals in damaged TVRs and somehow forgets to mention all the little details.

Forgot to say, when I enquired today, the explanation as to why the pay out was £27k, but the damage was so minimal, was "the owner didnt want the car anymore" !!!

Oh yes Mr Insurance company, I have damaged my car, hmmm I dont want it any more, can you pay me out please? Yes,of course sir.

That alone raised alarm bells....

Sorry for your loss, it looks like it was really nice, the 16" spiders suit it too.

It has some value in parts alone, and I'm assuming it won't go back on the road..... With five days to go, the price is now at £7300

That's madness........I didn’t pay that when i bought the car 18 months ago! and it wasn't broken then!!!
I did notice on the purchasers profile that he was bidding on 2 other cars from the seller which makes me think there is something strange going on???
I don't think we have heard the last on this one!!

Sounds like the seller was shill bidding it up!! It will probably be re listed then. Still can't believe someone was stupid enough to bid it anywhere near that price though.

shill bidding ? probably .... eBay not caring ? unlikely

i bought mrs an expensive watch last xmas - £8000 (RRP £30000) - and during the process i had several unsolicited phone calls from eBay asking whether the bid was intended, reassuring me that i was protected in case hooky/damaged/whatever and post auction to check I was happy.

Soon after i saw another (different) watch poss for valentine's or birthday, which I won at £1600 (RRP £15000), which wasn't right and they gave my money straight back.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy on eBay, given the right questions in writing "Authentic/original/undamaged/full service history/etc"

ETA - not sure if classified ads are covered by protection though

I like the way they deny any chassis damage thats been stated here and also that minor door damage can mean a Cat C classification. Top money for a Cat C as well.

Indeed. So it sold on flee bay for a smidge under 15K, has been repaired for 1K and is for sale at £15995.00?. The numbers don't add up or somebody is taking a big hit on their investment.
