Had my t350 for 3 yrs now and enjoyed
every minute in it, but in the last yr I've only done 2 k
and find myself looking in the classifieds !

I want a car that's fast but practical as I have a
15 month old son

I have been looking at rs4 as they tick
all the boxes anyone driven one do they
have the grin factor

Any advice or real life experiences welcome
as it's a huge decission for me

My t350 has a tvr power 4.3 engine so I'm not sure
How much to sell for

I have driven one,

It's fast to the ton.

Three years in a T350 is pure luck,

Owning an RS4 will be boring as fk.

No mass produce car can, or ever will,

Deliver what a TVR can for pure thrill.

Tuscans have bigger boot space , not so pretty as a t350 maybe , try a test drive in one . Within minutes of buying the Audi you will be yearning for a Tvr again and there's a lot of s/h Audi's about.

Budget?

I would go for a 996 Turbo. It has 4 seats (sort of, certaibly enough for kids in the back) is quick, is relatively reliable. Just make sure its a manual. Cerb is another possibility. RS4 isn't as practical as you may think, IMO rear legroom is little more than a 2+2 especially if the driver is 6ft or more, they are a bit clinical in a way. I like them but they are not a sports car

2k in a year? i think you should sell it if you don't want to use it/don't have time to use it/can't be bothered to use it. Let someone else neglect it a bit less. I know they look great but they are cars!

I went from my t350 to a b7 rs4, I have had my rs for about 6 months and I am now looking for a sag. The rs is an all around awesome car but it does everything so well it kind of takes the enjoyment out of it. Plus you need to be going so so fast to get the same thrill/fun factor out of it.

So does anyone want to part ex a sag for a rs4 plus change????

The trouble with nearly every other car is you can't hear the fecking thing , so your back to a tiv , no point in going fast if there's no sound or fear !biggrin

You can stick a Miltek on the Audi but you are right, the noise combines with the while experience to give you something which no other car I've ever driven does. A roughness that is smoothly delivered. A car as good going nowhere as it is going somewhere.

There will always be better built, better handling, more reliable, comfortable, powerful, faster cars but on each point that they surpass the TVR they make themselves more bland and less desirable.

The M5 estate was the best car I've ever driven, but I don't own one. I tried to buy a Ferrari but the cabin was naff and when I finally got hold of the TVR I'd been trying to get for 10 years I cancelled my order for the MP12 (plus the wife had just told me we'd need more than 2 seats when replacing the T350).

Long and short, I think there are two types of Tiv owners. Those who will always be Tiv owners, even if they don't have the car they will still be wanting to get back into one. And those who have a TVR as a stepping stone in their life on the route to te Porsche, Ferrari or Aston etc.

Had the same dilemma 8 months ago, 2 months prior to my son arriving.

Thought could manage with 2 doors so started looking at porkers, gtr's even maserati's but was convinced to try a M5 although I was adamant I'd not like it and never buy one.

Didn't expect to be impressed but on pressing that little M button I was blown away. For such a heavy car it can shift and I found myself smiling while driving. It's not a tiv smile admittedly but I do love driving it and the 4 doors, now I'm 6 months experienced, are in my eyes a necessity if you don't want to be bending your back at all sorts of angles just to get the car seat in. At 15 months that will be some weight to try and slot in easily. Not saying it's not possible but it makes it a 100 times easier with 4 doors

Try one. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised like I was.

I miss the t350 but I already plan to get me a sag perhaps next summer. You can't match/beat a tiv for it's whole package of looks, sound and driving experience in my eyes

Oh to add, the sound from a m5 is also more than impressive. Not as loud in the lower range as the tiv but over 4k and you get a lovely gurgling sound that makes people look

I would try a CSL - the induction roar is as good as any TVR pop bang fart exhaust. GTR is also a good option with downpipe. If your stuck on TVR then why not a guardian to the gates of hell with a 4.5 AJP that would tick the boxes. The RS4 will be nowhere near your t350 performance although Audi build quality is excellent.
Good luck

Really? After 10 yrs and 5 tvrs i decided to take a big leap of faith a plump for a new R35 gtr.
Was unsure as i waited 1 yr for delivery but have to say it was the best decision ive ever made, nearly 3 yrs on and cant believe the way this car still makes me feel every time i drive it. It still takes my breath away what this car can do, and before all the negative comments come about it drives itself, it has no soul, nothing could be further from the truth, with VDC in R mode tail out fun is great and with it off major caution is required.
So as far as driving goes this car is right up there for me, although more fun can be had at slow speeds in the tvr.
For OP - it Takes a good sized baby seat too.

Only tvr plus points for me were looks and sound

If your looking for 4 doors new RS6 is decent
