The spectraflair silver one: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3243807.htm

Does anyone have any background on this car?

In particular this is described as a mk2 car... what are the differences over the mk1 model?

And yes, of course I'll be giving them a call, just want to do a little homework first.

It's not a Mk II car.

The tailgate handle was on all the customer cars. The Tuscan seats were a downgrade to save money and will be less than ideal for someone called TallMark I suspect. The "proper" seats give more headroom and allow full seat adjustment without restricting seat belt movement.

In that case mine must be unique as it didn't have one new. Actually this is the first I've ever seen so suspect it is an aftermarket addition.

I have viewed this car and it is in great condition. I like the seats but only because you can put harnesses through them.

I believe the owner at one time was/is involved in the editing of Sprint magazine and it was used as a daily driver.

I saw this driving in as I dropped mine off - 'twas a lady driver! I know the re-launch (green) one was described as the Mk3 Sagaris, so what was the Mk2?

I thought the MK2 had rear facing exhausts as well.

I too understood that to be the case. This then is a Mk1 as I see it.

so what's the concensus so far...

The latest version Sagaris I knew of (and my knowledge here is pretty patchy compared to most on this board), was one with 19" wheels and rear facing exhausts. If that is a Mk2 then this car doesn't seem to be it. If that was a mk3 then I'm still a bit confused on any chances between mk1 & 2.

Appreciate the replies so far. For the poster who viewed the car - was that to purchase, and if so do you mind me asking if there was anything that put you off?

I bought my T350 from Str&six, there were a few little things I wanted sorted out before purchase. They done it without any fuss.

So if you do have any worries / concerns let Jason know and I'm sure he'll get them sorted out for you.

Jason does have a reputation for only selling cars that he knows and that are in very good condition. He also offers a 12month warranty which includes everything!

My current Tuscan went through Str8-six shortly before I bought it and has one of their engine rebuilds on it, so I am happy that I'm dealing with a good company. Just want to do my own research beforehand on this particular car.

I was up there anyway having some work done to my T350 while i waited. As they had to move it off a ramp in the workshop to put mine on i had a chance to look at it without really meaning to and the colour is amazing so i enquired further.

As the owner was/is the editor of Sprint i was told that the work done to the car was of a high standard (the engine rebuild) and it had been used as an everyday car. Nothing really put me off the car and i was very tempted but i like my T350 too much.

The only thing i notice which was a bit odd was the ride height appeared very high. What puts me off the Sag is the front splitters scraping the ground (my Tamora does this and drives me nuts) but there was no chance of scraping the front splitters on this.

This car is a 'later car' (Mk1) from around August/September 2005 build.

The differences from the 'earlier car' I think, are:-

Rear Hatch Handle

Above No. plate boot opener button

Tuscan Seats

Wiper & Indicator stalks- deletion of aluminium covers

Bonnet profile change at top edge for better wiper arm clearance, at bottom for more secure mountings.

(possible speedo/rpm number change)

Not aftermarket David, but remiss of me to generalise in regard to what TVR had on their cars... certainly they didnt smile

That describes my 55 plate anyway.

The "mk2" reference on the site is a mistake, its a later mk1 as several have mentioned.

Thanks for the help all.

Any more comments about this car please shout.

Correct

Used as a daily car until about a year or so ago. IIRC the engine was rebuilt due to a slipped liner.

Wrong. The green re-launch Sagaris was rightly described as the Mk2. Rear facing exhaust, 19" Power Wheels, Bonnet, engine compartment tidy-up and a complete new cockpit arrangement. Only 1 made, LHD, now in Saudi I believe. No such thing as a Mk3. They are all Mk1's (other than the green one mentioned), but with varying bits & bobs. Mine has the older Sparco style, winged headrest seats, but weirdly enough (and to my great satisfaction) electric lumbar support, not the manual, rubber douche pump! The spectraflair one in question at STR8SIX is a great car. Forget the mileage, it's in great shape. The interior is classy not gawdy and the exterior is great for the mileage. An '06 55 with engine rebuild, warranted by Jason and.... the price? Well I'd be biting their hand off if I didn't already have one.

I would also be considering this one, love the colour although personally would only consider orange. No rebuild but 2 year engine warranty.
