Batteries died can I...
Discussion
My battery has died, and I need to go shopping for a new one.. and this can take some time in N.I.
Can I remove the battery and leave the car for a long period of time? Say over the weekend?
I don't want to stick a new battery in and find the dash ECU has drained any sort of coin battery in there, etc..
Thanks,
James.

No, it'll be fine. I have a hidden kill switch that I use if the car's going to be parked up for extended periods, which essentiall does the same thing. Never noticed any ill-effects whatsoever. Was chatting with one of the designers for the dash, and they originally calculated that the dash battery could theoritically last decades based on the power consumption of the dash ecu.

Courious indeed I guess this is an external kill switch? as I would guess the car would be unlocked and alarm not activated if the kill switch is within the car??....Buzz
