'As per title really.... drivers window has suddenly become slow and lazy at opening, meaning I can't get the driver's door open... I have to get in the passenger side, lower the drivers door window using the button, then go back round to the drivers side to get in...

When I'm in and driving around, passenger window will open all the way in under 3 seconds, drivers window now takes about 5-6 seconds. This means it doesn't open quick enough on pressing the 'door open' button so that the window clears the roof...

Any ideas please ????

Hi Mike

Get the door card off (easy job)and have a look at the mechanism... give it a spray with the WD 40 and see if that frees it up. It would also be an idea to spray the glass runners with a silicone spray. The latter worked on my nearside window but also did the mechanism with WD to give it a bit of protection. Window is now within normal parameters.

I had (and did) exactly the same. Worked a treat, though I used a silicone lube instead in order to ensure a coating stayed on the runners. Easy job, if a little fiddly with the door card.

I haven't tried it myself but soil pipe and drainage lubricant is silicone based and available at all builders merchants

the door cards just pull right off or is there some screws to play around with? Planning on doing mine tomorrow as I've noticed the drivers door window won't go all the way to the top when locking the car now.. :/..

There are 3 small hex bolts in the bottom of the door holding the door card in place - access by removing the three plastic caps in the underside of the door (if they're still in place) and use a socket on an extension to undo them. Then, carefully prise the door card away from the door body. You'll find a rubber membrane stuck to the door to stop water ingress - carefully peel it away for access to the window mechanism.
