Hi folks

This was posted in a general thread, but as it also involves a more specific Sagaris modifications I did, I thought I should also post it here to show what the modification was like if anyone else was interested in doing something similar.

The inspiration for this idea came from another late 2006 model Sagaris that I saw in Middlesex. I quite liked the idea so tried something similar on my Sag.

The seat belt warning light operates in the same way as standard cars. If the ignition is on and the seat belt is not plugged in, then the light is on. When it is plugged in, light goes off. Not an essential element obviously, but looks good I think and was great to see in the cabin at night when combined with the blue from the starter button.

Anyway, some pictures below to show how it looks.

Looks like you've made a good job of it, but why bother? Isn't part of the attraction of a TVR that it doesn't have any superfluous safety bks?

I'm quite capable of reallising that I'm not wearing a seatbelt and taking the appropriate action without having a light to remind me.

Each to their own and all that but a definite 'miss' for me, sorry.

No, I didn't add it for safety equipment either. It is easy to tell if you are wearing a seat belt or not - if you need a light to tell you that alone then there is something wrong with you.

I added it because I liked the way it looked on the later Sagaris model where TVR did add it. It is purely for cosmetic rather than practicality. And it does look very nice at night.

But as you say - each to our own. wink

Hi

No it does not snag as there is a lot of clearance between the head unit and the gear knob, just the angle of the photo puts it out of perspective.

Clarion dont do that unit now which is a shame as it is a very good system which had lots of extensions you could build around it like tv, DVD, iPod, satnav, reversing camera to name some. Similar systems exist which you can customize and do the same job.

Gear knob will probably stay as is. I like the size of it and after I rebuilt the gearbox and replaced it with something slightly less primitive/agricultural than the standard t5, the changes are very smooth and has a good CR ratio so I like the minimalism effect of the aluminum smile

Not a fan sorry, pointlessly ruins the clean lines of the centre console IMO

I think this looks great smile I prefer the starter button myself but i'm sure they look great at night too. Good on you for modding it how you wanted, its always nice to have a few unique features you thought about yourself!

Some interesting comments - thanks!

The middle console could do with a bit of something IMHO. I came originally from a Tuscan
and that had a few little controls on both sides of the central console that helped to make it not
look so sparse.

I can appreciate the ideas of minimalism, but I think the Sag does take it slightly too far. IMHO of course biggrin

The later Sags also started to add controls to the central console as well, so not breaking wholly from the
TVR mould.
