Have a large difference in size between passenger door window and Drivers , approx 3cm measured over the rounded top (length not height). this leaves gaps both fore and aft and window rattles as not in front 'guide'with a large gap to back . The dealer I bought it from has measured 2 in his showroom and says the passenger window is smaller on both . If I adjusted window so front gap is not there the gap at the back will be massive . Has anyone else got this problem and is there a solution . Car is a 2005 T350c . The wind noise and rattling is getting to me !!

I just measured mine without a ruler or tape but I am quite convinced they are the same size on both sides.

Yes, my T350 is similar in that on the nearside the glass tucks nicely inside the A pillar but on the offside it would only just touch the seal causing wind noise of hurricane type magnitude and taking away some of the enjoyment of owning the car. I should add at this point that every T350 I've ever looked at has been the same and probably goes some way toward explaining why TVR went under. Surely somebody at the factory was aware of this, and yet it seems nothing was done. Incredible.
Anyway, to alleviate this problem I've had a door 'glass' made in polycarbonate, slightly longer than the original, and while it still doesn't fit as well as the nearside, with a fillet of mastic on the A pillar the wind noise is hugely reduced.

Both my window glasses are a perfect fit?

I would sudgest you remove the door cards and see how high the windows go up / come down. The bolts may have come loose allowing the guides and motor to drop. May just need lifting up and adjusting.

Cheers. Lee.

Thanks for replies , seems a bit of a mixed bag . The height adjustment is correct just a smaller window . Bugger ! Does mar the enjoyment of the car slightly . Anyone got a spare correct size one let me know , will bite your hand off for it !

This does sound strange, I know a few T350s and their door glass all fits perfectly.

Have to agree, both door Windows of mine fit snug with no gaps on any edges and seal well at speed. All standard trim and not had to attempt any form of adjustment other than tightening up the small track bracket holding nuts to stop an annoying rattle when closing the drivers door.

Update , window measurements from Racetech matched my own so still looking for a window that fits !! Have attached a picture this shows gap at back bearing in mind that window does not reach the 'guide' at the front either ,which on the drivers side pushes the window in for a tight seal . I can only suppose by your posts that two different sizes were produced . The marking on mine are 43R-000393 04... Vidur (same for Drivers) If someone has got a flush fitting window could you confirm if markings are the same or measurements Thanks .

I might give mine a wash this afternoon and if I door will take a pic or two and measure it. Which dimensions do you want to compare?

Cheers

I doubt very much that you have a smaller window

Thanks Lee ,

Bit awkward to measure without taking off the door card but a measurement across the width from top corner to top corner as in photo would be great thanks , mine is 49cm across .

I have never seen different sized glass either, however unlikely maybe there was.

How does the glass look on the front A pillar? regarding fit etc; picture?
Do you have photos of the window partially raised near to the bottom?

Has to be an alignment issue surely.

Does the quarter light look original? maybe it is a different length but it wouldnt make sense of the relationship of the glass and the rubber seal of course; but every little helps.

we need more pictures, preferably the relationship of the glass to the surrounding bodywork, doors, a + b pillars etc.

Just been out to measure mine on the 350 and can confirm both sides are 49cm same as yours with matching part number. Interesting point is the gap between the door window rear top corner and the rear quarter section is 10 mm on drivers side and 20 mm on the passenger side. That said, seals fine both sides for water and noise. Yours looks greater than this.

Have to say that having watched a pair of rear quarters being fitted after a retrim, they also vary in size slightly as both mine were new as the old ones were destroyed getting them out. Your rear may have been replaced at some point, just a thought. Your window seems to sit on the rubber, same as mine.

Having had the door panels off a couple of times, mainly to tighten up various annoying rattles on closing the doors (which worked a treat), the adjustment is fairly simple to the window guides and suggest playing around with different positions.

Now I have noticed the difference, I will be on a mission to get both sides the same, strange how you don't notice things, suggests my whole window needs to move back 5mm and increase the lift by about the same which should do it as the window comes up at an angle at the back.

TVRisms are wonderfull things, hand made doesn't always mean laser aligned accuracy! The fun is in the fix, no matter how minor.

Hope this gives comfort to your pain.

Is this not more to do with the body itself as opposed to the glass my rear quarter lights have a 10mm variation and on my friends sag more like 20mm agreed that with adjusting the glass in the runner that it can be made better but on mine I had to careful on not taking to much from the front edge. Just a bit like other things with rear hatch finger recess not being in the middle of the car.

Have done a bit more measuring , the drivers window is wider at 51cm and fits flush both sides and carries the same markings (part number?) as passenger window , the distance between the A & B Pillars is different by 1.2cm (wider on the passenger side) 51.8cm & 53cm at top of door .

If some cars have a totally flush fitting on the passenger side be interesting to see if measurement as in photo is 49cm for window or larger like my drivers side . any help appreciated .

Thanks Paul
