Stupid battery charging question
Discussion
Returned from holiday to a flat battery. Pulled out my battery charger from the loft, went outside, removed the rubber external anderson connector cover behind passenger side front wheel and.... I can't remember whether to attach the red crocodile clip to the front or back terminal. Anyone know which way round they attach?
Thanks!
Thanks!

No, but if you have the jump leads with an anderson connector on it, plug it in. As it only fits one way, this should tell you which is live and which is the earth. If you have a volt meter you could also try that. Thanks!
Plenty of recent updates on charging and starting here.

Not sure if you can get the crocodile clips to mate with the Anderson connector on the chassis. I bought the RaceTech connector. If you do this, make sure you order the same colour as the connector (not the cover...... like some er PH-er.)

The red connectors actually do fit - there is a simple mod that turns them into a UNIVERSAL fit and totally compatible with gray or whatever colour is needed. I do it the jump/fly leads that I supply because the red connectors are a lot cheaper than the grays when buying in bulk and that means I can keep the costs down. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

You can also see which one is marked positive and which one is negative.
Personally I would check with a volt meter or visually if I was clipping straight on. The last thing you want to do is get them the wrong way round as it can take out most of the electronics which for some reason doesn't appear to be protected against power polarity swap.

Useful info - thanks. I have already sent my red ones off for exchange, otherwise I'd fix them as you suggest. You can also see which one is marked positive and which one is negative.

Fortunately, a fellow PH-er, Duff-Man, drove over and let me borrow his grey ones. It was a very firm push to get them to connect, but once they did, the car started first time.
A big thanks to Duff-Man.
