Alternator Belt
Discussion
Any of the TVR parts specialists should have one. its a 10spline drive on the TVR alternator so whilst the guts of it are similar to other 100 amp ones on Landrovers they seem to use 7 spline drive wheels. PS it would be worth doing a test fit so you know what tools you need for a roadside swap, for removing the airbox and having the right allen keys spanners and leavers for getting the tension right, though you may have thought of this already

Thanks for the info Mac
The Belt replacement is straight forward job + I've just done a full service on the car including diff G/box oil, fuel filter carbon canister tappets etc which made me have a look at the drive belt,+ I've been all over the car whilst its SORN'd and TVR's are just kit cars really.
The belt will probably an off the shelf drive belt from a main manufacturer basically like the most of the parts TVR range.I just don't want to be paying for an over priced TVR part that I can get from my local factor.
Cheers

If its the same belt as a Tuscan sp6 (think they are all the same until it went electric?) TVR Power sell them for £14, i changed mine, then the power steering belt start to chrip
same spec belt i believe but havent changed that one yet.
Im sure its probably available from a motor factors but hardly worth trying for the difference it would make!

Never checked my own tappets before though oil, filter, belts, brakes etc are all things im happy to tackle. Just how difficult is doing your own tappets? Scares me......in case i get it wrong, as the consequences are pretty severe!!!The Belt replacement is straight forward job + I've just done a full service on the car including diff G/box oil, fuel filter carbon canister tappets etc which made me have a look at the drive belt,+ I've been all over the car whilst its SORN'd and TVR's are just kit cars really.

Hi Rob
Thanks for the info Checking the tappets is a time consuming and you need to know what you are doing. The concequences of getting it wrong are atomic!! Unless you have done similar work I would leave well alone. It's worth just getting your local dealer to do it if you are not confident.
