I ordered mine in January. Deposit was £1700. They said I could spec the car at the motorshow, which I did and had to pay the balance up to 10% or £5000. Which I did.
You have to do this to get an order number and build slot at the factory. I still haven't given final specs but they said October at the factory. Now they're saying November. Who knows when it'll finally turn up but I'd rather they took their time and did it properly than rushed them out.
My final quoted price was £52k that's for a car in iced titanium with air-con and no other extras.
Trust me I had a 355. A big steaming pile of cack in my view. I'll never bother with those lame horses again - seriously - and I was a big fan before I got it. The car is just too slow for the money, bottom line. They don't handle either. A sagaris would have it for breakfast and doesn't have the nasty 'look at how much money I've got' image problem. Don't be suckered by the badge, its a con.
All 355's are thrashed by posey twat/can't drive for toffee owners from cold and from new. The number of brand new ones I saw screaming away from Maranello concessionaires was quite sad actually. I think more tvr owners actually like their cars, judging by all the threads on here tvr owners seem contientious about running in etc.

I have owned 3 TVR's and 2 Ferrari's one of which was a 355. I assume that your comment about 355's not handling was a joke ? If not then you must have either bought a real dog or it was just setup badly. And as to your comment about all 355's being thrashed by posey twat/can't drive for toffee owners then I think you need to meet and spend some time in the passenger seat, with some of the Ferrari owners on this website.

just always wanted a Ferrari ( get the boyhood dream out of my system)and thats the way I was going until i saw the Sagaris, then my mind made me think twice, only concerns really wold relate to spending 55k on a Sagaris and the same on the 355, for the TVR to be worth potentially 35-40k after a year and the ferrari 45-50. ( excluding running costs, condition mileage etc) just a generalisation.

Didn't mean to upset anyone. I genuinely think Ferraris are a rip off. I owned mine from new and it was based on all that boyhood fantasy stuff. The problem was the early cars had better power to weight ratios than the later cars like mine. As a result, like the F40, the cars got slower (noticably) over time. The swines never uprated the power to go along with the extra weight.
I'll be totally fair and say it wasn't all bad. It sounded nice but that was literally it. And I really would worry about someone buying second hand based on the treatment I know they recieve.
And I do think they handle badly. Fine up to a point but they do bite like many so called 'mid engined' cars and they are desperately heavy and slow round a track. The 355 is really rear engined and handles accordingly. You'll notice you hardly ever see them on trackdays anymore (or any ferrari) because the egotistical owners can't take the beatings!
Trust me a Sagaris would reduce a 355 owner to tears on a trackday.

I can't see a Sagaris losing that much money in the first year. The build time is a little higher at the factory now than in recent times for all models apparently. I think nearly 6 months wait for a new car. Much different to the 10 week wait I had for mine just over a year ago. This will have the affect of boosting residuals on nearly new cars. Also, Sagaris (in fact all models I think) will have a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty. That's bound to help prop up the price too IMHO.
