Hi,

I presume if I wanted to get an Ipod compatible Stereo - CD Player, then it's a simple swap and connect from Halford etc?

The current Pioneer Stereo is fine, but I don't do CD's, so figured would upgrade that at some point.

Anything to think about before doing this?

I've just fitted a Pioneer MVH-8300BT, which is "mechless" (no CD mechanism). Very easy, but make sure you use the short bunch of cables that come with the headunit and don;t just plug into the old ones as some of the functionality is different. So you just unplug the old harness and plug in the new one, then connect the headunit.

I can nip out to the garage and try and take some pics if it would help to see how it looked.

Just fitted a Clarion stereo with a screen that pops out with full Sat Nav.
Also has a good quality Bluetooth Handsfree kit, Bluetooth music streaming, USB stick that contains the contents of my music library, DVD player (wtf!!), TV (if you buy the extra tuner - which I'm not bothering with obviously), and a few other pointless things (like a CD player)

BUT, if you have no sense of direction (like me) and need to occasionally use the phone legally, its a good bet. It was £600 and I fitted it myself (although it was a bit tight on room at the back of the box).

Here you go - spec is pretty good, bluetooth, i-pod, sd card, video (if you can be bothered to connect the "handbrake on" sensor). Photos are pretty bad though...

I have a mint alpine ida x100 which I had in my tam sat doing nothing. Best iPod headunit ever made. Also plays direct from USB stick. Also got the lead to use with older type iPods.
