Struggling to remove the tunnel cover on my Tam. I can get it to raise at the back and can get the gear stick gaitor over the knob (ooh err missus) but cant release it at the front or hand brake gaitor? How does it come out?

Cheers

Pull out the ash tray, stick your fingers in the hole! there is a wing nut you need to spin off. Much easier with the roof off so you can get a steeper angle to lift it out with the alloy gearstick and handbrake covers removed.

I found the best way to remove the tunnel is first release the adjustment on the hand brake[this will allow hand brake to rachet up]
Remove the gear nob, screwed sleeve, handbrake cover and two crews at either side of the tunnel cover.
Remove the hood for better access.
Slide the tunnel forward and lift the back up first, carefully easing it over the gater.
I removed mine just the other week and there was no screw near the lighter but all cars are differant so it is best to check.

Chris, I think the newer T-cars (when the fog lights changed on the Tam) that had the screws in the sides of the tunnel did not have the bolt & wing nut fastening.
