Good evening everyone. I have finally put a deposit down on a T350C and I can't wait until I collect the car. Unfortunately I will have to wait a further 9 days!

Just a bit about myself: I've had an Elise 111R for the last 3years. And for the past 12 months it has been supercharged.

A few years ago I was perusing the Pistonheads Classifieds and saw the T350. Well after seeing it, I always new that one day I would try and buy such a beautiful looking beast. 2 weeks ago I took the beast out for a test drive. What can I say. Just the sound track alone was enough to convince me this is what I've always wanted. Add to that the performance. Of course I don't need to tell you that. After all I am preaching to the converted!

Please be patient with me because I am bound to ask the obligatory questions that have been asked many times before.
Cheers
John

Haha. Nice one.
Bought mine 3 months ago.

Absolutely loving it. Word of advice though - put some money aside...

I've just gone from a S1 Elise to a T350t. I can't put into words how happy I am with my T350.

I was worried when I sold the Elise I would miss it hugely. Luckily the tiv in my eyes is far better. The Elise was great 20% of the time, when you had a clear twisty road that you could really push the car on. The rest of the time it was far to compromised. The TVR is great 90% of the time. The engine is fantastic and makes such a lovely noise, from idle all the way to 8000rpm. It's more comfortable and far more usable day to day. Only thing mine needs is a set of Nitron shocks. Also some more supportive seats in the car, or get the base more arse hugging.

Hope you enjoy your new car. I'm sure you will.

Congratulations, it is a stunning car and also has the later style Sag seats in it. Theyre a good bunch of guys at Castle and Ben looked after me well when I bought my T350t from him back in 2008.
Where abouts in Essex are you? I'm often over Elsenham way where a mate lives.

Thankyou. Yes Ben is a top bloke and a pleasure to deal with. I live about 30 minutes away in Epping.

As an aside to that, with over a week left to wait. Whilst the car is still at the garage. I am toying with the idea of having the wheels refurbed in black. Do you guys think that will look wrong?

Well done. thumbup

Black wheels can work but may not be the best look on blue. It's pretty subjective.

I don't think black wheels will work IMHO. Whilst I know it's a blue car, it is a very light silvery blue and not a million miles awat from silver that mine is (tenuous I know but bear with me). I'm having my wheels refurbished to shadow chrome at the moment whilst she's away having some body repairs and you're welcome to see it once done.
I believe Kev (Lasersag) also has shadow chrome on his laser blue Sagaris.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked for your worthy opinion. But what made me think about changing the colour is when I saw this photo of somebody elses lovely motor. Certainly from the angle its taken at, it looks black. But maybe it isn't. Is that shadow chrome?

Having said all that. I'm still very much undecided. I could well end up leaving it as it is.

That's probably Spectraflair Silver or similar car colour. Don;t think Black wheels will work on a blue car - maybe a light anthracite ??? Post up a pic of your car....

I still don't think black would suit it - too solid. Anthracite or Shadow Chrome on the other hand would look good, you'd be more than welcome to pop one of my shadow chromes on when I get her back (5-6 weeks) so you can see before splashing out the cash.

I'm not really sure what the difference is between Shadow Chrome and Anthracite. But whichever one is the darker. That may be the one to go for. Certainly its not a problem me not doing it yet. I was only thinking of doing it now while its still at the garage. So thanks if you can let me know when you get your car back. It will be an excuse to take mine for a drive....Not that I really need an excusesmile

That would be mine, Grigio Alloy with regular anthracites.

Congratulations on the purchase, I think more and more people are moving over from the likes of Lotus to TVR, after doing the research and realising that these cars actually aren't anywhere near as unreliable as people seem to make out, Most S6 engined cars on the market have either had the rebuild, Or don't actually need one, as the engine is solid, I remember my 1st test drive in a T350 about 5 years ago and the salesman said to me, 'you do realise that you are going to become addicted after your 1st drive don't you'! And how right he was! , I also remember being told, ' These things are the closest thing you will get to crack cocaine', They are totally addictive.
Welcome to the madhouse.
