As the title says really...

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3827479.htm

Just changed hands recently - i believe it used to reside in West Sussex. If anyone know's who has picked it up could they shed some light? I was hoping to make the new onwer an offer on the reg mark, as the seller wouldn't budge.

(and yes... i toyed with the idea of buying the car with the plate as I'm in the market, but will wait out for a t350T as initially planned!)

I reckon you should have bought it.
It sounds cheap bearing in mind the work its had done to it!
In fact, someone has got themselves a bargain there!

Believe me.. i was very tempted, especially with that warranty.
Ultimately though, I am in no rush and have my heart set on a few particular colours and also to have a Targa. No denying the price was brilliant though - he was never going to have problems selling at that price. All I heard was that the interior was a bit of a let down. Anyone go see it who could comment?

It's a bit of a long story with the plate to be honest... I had my eye on it on the DVLA website about 3 years ago. AOK are my initials, 6 is my lucky number and S looked good with the 6... I'd had my eye on it for a few weeks but never got round to buying it (albeit it was only £250, they were all pretty much available from S4 to S10 so for S6 to sell would have been major bad luck)... and just that happened! A few days left to pay day (was quite a skint young lad at the time) and I log on just to have a look and its gone. About a week later it shows up on Mycarcheck on a blue TVR and I was gutted... missed out on my dream plate by a few days (and due to shear stupidity!).

3 years on and I find myself looking for a T350 since about December 2011 onwards. I click on this advert and BAMM, I see the plate and immediately make the connection!

Spoke to the seller who sounded like a top guy but didn't want to split the car and the plate. I offered £500 which I thought was reasonable seeing as he bought it for £250 but I guess he thought it would help sell the car (only in hindsight have I made the S6 connection to TVR). I did however suggest for him to let the future buyer know, as there's a big likelihood they will have their own private plate anyway!

But there ya go... at least I know the plate I had my heart on is actually on the same car as the one I will soon own! smile

Moral of the story? Maybe pay-day loans aren't that bad a thing after all!

Having recently bought one, if I were to do it again - knowing what I know now - I'd buy the best one I could find mecahanically, regardless of age, colour, interior etc.
I went for one that was a bit cheaper in the end, knowing I'd have to sort a few niggles, but its much cheaper to have a re-trim and re-spray than it is to pay for a 4.3 engine conversion...

The interior of mine was the standard vinyl (looked like leather in the photos) - why anyone would specify a car with vinyl instead of a decent leather is beyond me frankly but there we go.
It looks tatty, and for some reason has blue suade door cards and faded blue carpets - in a silver car.

So it'll go off at the beginning of the summer and made to look as lovely inside as it does on the outside. In case you're wondering, I'm getting quotes of around £2,500 to change everything except the roof lining (which is fine as it is). Carpets, seats, dash (windscreen removal inc.), the full monty... I'm going for a leather / alcantara mix. Black leather with some grey piping here and there. Quilted door cards and seat cusions etc...

The thing with TVR's is that you don't get the usual £3-4k a year deprecaition you'd get on any other £20-30k sports car, (which in my mind pays for things like the re-trim) and the buyers seem to be a pretty well informed bunch, so if you have a well maintained car, that you spend money on doing the right upgrades, you should find that you get a fair proportion of it back when you sell (which will mitigate the £10k engine upgrade I have planned).

Get a cup pipe put in.
They just take out the silencer in the rear bumper.
Cheap job, and sounds just right.
