I am relatively new to the TVR scene...I say relatively because my father has had a couple over the years, but I personally have never owned one.
I am looking to buy a Tamora (CE02 UFK) in viper blue, and looking to see if anyone on here knows anything about the history of this car? Or anything I should be looking out for in particular.
Any help/feedback would be appreciated.

here's the service information I got from the garage:
The Tamora was supplied by Newtown Motors, TVR main agents for Wales, on
010.03.2002.
It went back to them for the 1,000 mile service on 25.06.2002.
The next service was also carried out by them, at 9,000 miles, on 13.01.04.
Then Fernhurst serviced the car on 03.12.2004, at 11,794 miles.
The following service was carried out by Christopher Neil, (TVR dealers) on
08.06.2005 at 18,654 miles.
They also did the next service on 01.09.05 at 24,189 miles.
On 10.04.2006, a service was done by TVR Power, Coventry at 30,663 miles.
They serviced it again on 03.07.2006 at 36,357 miles, and again on
08.06.2007 at 41,874 miles.
Horizon Motorsport (TVR specialist) carried out the next service on
09.02.2008 at 46,549 miles.
The next service was back at Christopher Neil on 15.09.2009 at 50,762 miles.
That's the last service as the last owner was in the Army and used the car
intermittently; it has only done a couple of thousand miles since the last
service.
The car is with Tony Gilbert cars in Coventry, seems like a nice car and seems well looked after. Heading down to look it over properly with a view to purchase.
any thoughts/input would be appreciated

Hmm... 2001/2002 engine with no documented rebuild and 52k on it...
Not sure of going for that one myself. You might be ok as the engine is up to 52k
with - I assume - no obvious issues, but you might be pushing your luck here.
I would at the very least get the engine inspected to see what state it is in,
maybe a compression test as well(?)
IMHO of course, I'm no technical expert on engines, but it would ring the "hmmm"
bells for me.

If i remember correctly the previous owner of this car (Ben??) was in Solihull, i hadn't realised he was in the Army, i spoke to him a couple of times around Xmas 2010, but my plans to view were thwarted by bad weather, obviously this means the car has been for sale for over 18 months, i'm guessing the mileage has put people off.
From memory he told me it was in excellent condition, i don't think he knew whether it had had an engine rebuild and it was obviously quite a bit cheaper as a private sale, that said, i think the dealer had it up for sale over £15k at one point.

I've always liked the look of this one, again it was cheaper when a private sale and again no documented engine rebuild, that said neither has mine, although 352bhp and a clean bill of health from Raceproved was enough to re-assure me, that is what you should do, make sure you get a proper ramp inspection before buying

yea, the thought had passed through my mind as well, but have seen a lot of people talking on here about if the speed six has that many miles without a rebuild chances are that it was one of the lucky few?Not sure of going for that one myself. You might be ok as the engine is up to 52k

The price has come down a bit since then - and also managed to get him to move slightly on the advertised price as well. The garage have also said they will service/MOT and also attach a full 1 year warranty to the car, however I don't know how much good that will be if it goes bang...unlimited claims up to the value of £1000 for 1 year. Thinking about it i'm not sure whether a dealer will let you have it checked out by a garage, but i'd be looking for a ramp inspection and engine check if it were me, don't rush in to a purchase, i actually posted on here that i was selling my Cerbera and wanted a Tamora, within a couple of days i'd received a PM from my cars now previous owner and what a car it turned out to be for the money, touches wood 
Jamie it looks like a nice example. BUT do you have £8k for a rebuild should the car require it during your ownership!!. It is obviously a good engine to get to this millage without a rebuild but be carefull the last thing you want is a car sitting in your garage that you can't use,fix.
If you were to buy one with a rebuild it would be about £3-4k more expensive though.

That engine from Jason is well worth it and is indeed a monster 
After I bought my Tam in 2010 I kept a record for a while of all Tam's for sale to track prices (geeky I know

This car was originally advertised at TG in Feb 2011 for £15495, so it has been up for sale for over a year now though the screen price has dropped by around £750.
I looked at a car at Tony Gilbert's before I bought mine and he seems like a good well respected guy. It seems it has a full service history, is a good colour and looks good in the pics.
I would echo what has already been said on here, 52k without a rebuild is good going but is something to bear in mind and factor in might need doing at some point, plus I'd also want to know the history behind it having the revised front end. Mine is a '52' plate and still has the 'Mk1' front. The carpets look an unusual colour compared to the trim, but they may have just faded and that's just a personal view anyway.
I think Tony takes his cars to TVR Power, so you could probably get it checked over there if you were seriously interested.

Yes, he told me a few weeks ago the Speed Six cars go to TVR Power. I have just had Chim from him and he has been spot on to deal with on a few after sales issues.Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
