Thanks guys I quite like the colour
Just had some suspicions as to why a low mileage car was at such a low price.
Quite odd that, I had a converstaion with Tony (the owner) at HHC on Friday - he was suprised no one had bought it at the price he has now reduced it too...I have seen the car, no need to be suspicious, its a genuine car. Just had some suspicions as to why a low mileage car was at such a low price.

As John says no need to be suspicious...I saw the car a week or so ago and it's sound...if you like the red then it's worth a look....looks good in the flesh! I think I know the previous owner, not well, but he has a very good tvr record and looks after his cars.I have just spotted this thread so firstly, let me apologise to you Zoom and anyone else thinking of buying this particular car.
In the words of Jim Carry "It was me!!"
i have bought this particular car as i couldn't understand why such a deal was going untouched. i test drove the car and found it to be sound (apart from the speedometer not working, which i am told is a common fault with the older models). i came to the conclusion that the only thing holding back the value was the colour... so i bought it.
i am a long time PHer and a first time TVR owner, however, despite my age (or lack of) you can be assured that this car has gone to a good home and will be cared for greatly. no silly maneuvers of thrashing will be done. no silly mods or stripes will adorn the bodywork (although the wheels may end up becoming anthracite grey at some point).
i intend to keep this car for a very long time (it most likely won't see the light of day for most of the year) and take the best of care with it. that being said, i am new to TVR's and would welcome any advice or help i can get.
Condolences again, had i seen this thread earlier...
i'd have still bought it cause its a good car

thanks for the support, i can't wait to pick it up in July (needed service and MOT before collection, all included in the price)
i have no issue with red, although it may get changed after a few years if it starts to fade. my best mate has an red Integra DC5 that started to turn pink. we mocked him so much he resprayed it in a thicker and deeper red.
on that note, what is the quality of paint on british cars? i have only ever had Japanese which is very thin and tends to chip/mark easily.
