Does anyone else find that their foot slips off the clutch pedal if they're wearing flat shoes and your undersoles are a bit damp/wet? It can't half catch you out when you suddenly find yourself slipping out your seat. (Admittedly this problem might only affect short arses like me)

If so, has anybody managed to bother modifying the pedal to stop this or does anyone know of a better pedal? At present I find myself trying to dry my feet on the car mat as much as poss before touching any of the pedals.

Cheers.

Yes a couple of times in early ownership, I haven't modified the pedal(s) but keep a cloth handy to dry the soles before driving, not keen on the idea of using the mat/carpet though frown

Yes I'm not keen on constant rubbing my feet on the mat either. It'll only lead to a shabby mat.

I'd like to think there was something that clipped on to the end of the pedal that acted as a 'stopper'. I'll just have to keep slipping or invest in a cloth for now.

You could either fit wider pedals or pedal covers that have more grip. Not a problem I've had myself. Might be due to the shoes I wear when I drive the Sag - rubber soled so have a good grip.

Hi Alex,
Cant help on the slippy shoe situation Im afraid, But its great to see another TVR owner in Liverpool, Where abouts are you based as I will keep an eye out for you.
There's a few Tuscans and Chimaeras around the city, but you may be the only T350 owner.
You must join us for our regular runs out into north wales as the roads are absolutely fantastic,
We normally meet up at least once a month with the TVRCC North Wales, and sometimes there is as many as 15-20 TVR's all rumbling through Wales annoying the locals.
What colour is your beast as I will keep an eye out for it.
All the best
Ian

Being a short arse like you, I have my seat quite far forward such that with my lower back to the back of the seat, I can push the pedal fully flat with the complete flat of my foot. Of course it does mean driving quite close to the steering wheel BTCC style. However I do lift up the seat pad and use it as a backrest. This keeps you firmly in the seat, gives you better visibility by not being too high to the roof where the visors can obstruct a bit, and gives you a little bit more distance to the steering wheel which is important with the seat thus far forward.

Cheers Ian. I've been a TVR fan since I was a kid and always have an eye out for TVRs when out and about. Haven't seen one of any kind in Liverpool for years unfortunately.
I'm based in Crosby north of the city. A day out on the welsh roads sounds good. I promise I'll sort my life out and come along. With dry shoes. Or a cloth.

Alex.

I'll probs look out for a decent pedal cover. My T350 is my everyday car too so I can't guarantee what shoes I'll be wearing at any given time. It's only a rare occurrence but like I say, it's a scary shock when it happens!

Hi Sandymac, there is a really easy fix for this and one that I use. Just get some "Grip Pedal" tape, its the stuff they use on Kart Pedals. It comes in a roll and just cut it to size. I usually get mine from Demon Tweeks. It works perfectlybiggrin

Brilliant! I can see straight away that that'll do the job perfectly. Thanks for that.

As soon as the weather improves there will no doubt be a run out into north wales, i will pm you as soon as i know the details, there is at least 3 x t350's on the wirral and at least one or two normally turn up along with a few tuscans chims and griffs
Enjoy your new beast
