Hi guys,

I have a T350 with a RG sports exhaust.
I'm doing the Brands GP track day on Wednesday which has a lower than average noise rating.
As it stands, I'm planning on having the standard back box put back on for the day, but are there any other easier / cheaper solutions for reducing the noise for the day?
I have heard of mufflers that can be placed over the ends of the tail pipes, which look odd, but do the job whilst on track.
Unfortunately, I now can't find any...

Thanks

What's the dB limit?

Changing to the standard box takes about 20-30 minutes all in. What could be cheaper if you have it back home?

101 / 102 dB (I can't quite remember).

I just like the idea of being able to pop something over the end quickly when required...

ACT do bolt on silencers which go over the end. Check out their website and my profile picture. You shouldn't have any trouble with Brands with the standard exhaust but I've never tried it with my RG exhaust.

Enjoy the GP circuit, it's a great track.

That's just what I had in mind, unfortunately it looks like I've left it a bit late. (1-2 weeks for delivery)
I've been quoted £20 cash by Kwik Fit to swap the back box over for this time out though, so should still be ok.

Can't wait to get on the GP circuit, I've been on the Indy track loads, so this will make a nice change...

Anyway, thanks for the tip.

what about some db killer they also use in motorbikes?
ebay sells a lot different sorts, they go in the pipe so you do not have those extra long exhaust pipes...
maybe one type of db killer fits well for the T350 and gets the db level a tiny bit down?
only downside it also blocks the flow a bit so I guess you keep an eye at the engine heat control.

or you make some sort of insert db killer yourself of perforated aluminum which you shape into pipe form which is soft and that way you wont have the loudness of hard stainless pipes and so kills also a bit the loudness.
at the end of the exhaust the temps are not that high I guess so then alu will hold.

try it out :-) hammer on a stainless can and then on a alu can, the difference is pretty high in sound return.

Your welcome to borrow mine if you want? Judging by your profile you also live in London so can't be that far from me.

I've only done GP circuit once but it was fantastic. Like to do the one your doing but the car is in for its service and MOT.

I'm in Richmond - SW London. Pity you couldn't make it - they still have space I believe. I'd love to go for a ride in a 4.3 too. Planning on doing something similar at some point soon.
I think I've run out of time this time to borrow your cans (unless you live really close) as I've got a million things to do this afternoon, and before I leave in the morning.
Thank you very much though. I really appreciate the offer.

No worries. I'm live near Croydon so not too far but probably far enough if you've things to do and leaving early in the morning. Have a great time.

The 4.3 is fantastic. If your thinking about it its well worth it IMHO. Your welcome to go a ride in it anytime, just need to get it back first!
