I was looking for a T350, but the tamora?

I quite like the idea of a full convertible roof on the tam - does the loss of the roof affect the rigidity of the car? Am I right in thinking that underneath it's pretty similar to the T350?

I wouldn't worry about rigidity on the Tamora. Lots of people rate them as the best handling of all TVR's. I couldn't confirm that, not having driven the whole range but I can confirm that I am very, very happy with mine. Swapped to Nitrons last year but to be honest, the handling was really good on the standard setup. it's just even better now!

+1. Having just driven mine back from a major service at Str8 Six. And there isn't a car out there I would swap mine for (unless I won the lottery, and even then, I'd still keep it)

I don't think there is much difference in stiffness and it's more than offset by the lower weight of the Tam. Don't forget the Tam came first, so it is not like the roof was chopped off a T350 then it was strengthened to compensate.

Plus it's a steel chassis and fibreglass body, so unlike normal cars does have the same rigidity in the roof as it doesn't form part of the chassis.

The T350/Sag have the cage so should (cet. par.) be stiffer, but the mounting of the cage is allegedly questionable.

Thanks for all the replies - but I've put a deposit on a T350 now! It doesn't sound like I can go too far wrong with T350 vs Tam though
