T350 rear latch not catching!

Hi all, my rear glass catch won't latch even with force. I've read threads about moving the catch down, that's ok and I'm sure it will work, my bolts come out fine, but the the metal latch is pretty well bonded to the glass. Any tips to get it off, thought I best to ask with the risk of breaking a pricely piece of glass!!

unless your catch is worn I wouldn`t remove it from the glass, it will be the mechanism in the back of the car at fault probably.
does the mechanism work when you use a screwdriver to replicate the catch to see if the latch is clicking over the catch, if so then the mechanism will need to raise up a bit, not lower the catch on the glass.

Yes the mechanism works fine. I read on here it was hard to adjust the mechanism as it's bolted to the fibreglass.

if the catch diameter is worn try wrapping some insulation tape around it and see if it works then.

Just encountered same problem after working fine for over a year!
Can't see how its happened so very fustrating

The catch isn't showing any sign of wear, it just doesn't push down far enough for the mechanism to click shut, its annoying because it squeaks and the car isn't secure when locked!

Have you unscrewed the latching 'rod' from the bit on the glass and moved it to help it catch and latch? Might just need adjusting? I can't see why you'd need to unstick the whole part from the glass.

The catch spindle acts like a cam, undo with allen key and move it down the channel on the the latch.

I'll have a look at moving the latch and give it some WD40 when it's back from having my wheels painted and my leather repaired!

I think this is definitely a case to move the pin down on the inner glass bracketry. Should be straight forward and you can adjust to suit the firmness of hold from the boot release. May. E easier with two so that the pin can be tightened up once in the correct position.
