Hi all thanks for looking in, I have a t350c, and with a new little one it looks like I will not get much time to run the tiv out, as I am only home for long weekends any way.

What do you lot think is the best way to park it up? or store it?

At the moment I have my new Optimate 4 on it, and take it for a quick spin every two weeks just to get oil up to the head.

Any iders?

Hi,

Cotton lined car cover
Trickle charger
I have an engine oil preheater although this is not essential it just reduces the initial potential for issues

forget the cotton lined car cover. if you are desperate for a cover then just buy some cheap cotton king size sheets from asda.

however, if you are storing it inside then covering the car is not the best way to go anyway. i'll need to dig up the link but i seem to remember it saying that if a car is stored in a garage then a cover is redundant.

in fact, the cover is more likely to do more harm as it traps dust when being placed on, and scratches the paint when being removed. it also stiffles air flow which can lead to other problems such as mold etc...

trickle charger is a prime shout though

If you're not intending to drive it for a few months, as in my case, the advice I was given by Jason at St8six for laying up my Cerbera was to give it a really good clean and polish and take it out for a blat and get it nice and hot so everything drys off.

Make sure it has about 1/2 tank of fuel, pump tyres up to 38 PSI (stick a post it note in the steering wheel to remind you to drop the pressures!), stick in on a trickle charger under a decent car cover and then leave it. Do not start it every couple of weeks, that'll do more harm than good. You don't want everything getting nice and warm and then cooling down and creating condensation.

When mine comes out of storage shortly I'm going to run it up to Jason for a full 12K and for him to change all the fluids etc. Hopefully it'll be as good as new and no ill effects from it's time off the road.
