New battery required for the Tamora
Discussion
Can anyone advise the battery I should be buying to replace the one in my Tamora? Is there a spec I should be getting?
Its the original battery (7 years) so I suppose its about right for a replacement.
Looks to be fairly straight forward to replace, should I be aware of anything/tips when I'm changing it? What about the alarm/imobiliser, will they need re-setting?
Cheers.

069 round post with a decent CCA. Make sure you get a battery with the flanges on the sides so you can clamp it down (MOT failure for an un-secure battery). Don't leave your keys in the car as it will lock and roll the windows up when you re-connect the battery. Its the original battery (7 years) so I suppose its about right for a replacement.

Make sure you insulate the +ve terminal properly as its by the chassis, I would check all the terminals too. Also whilst you are at it have a good look at the anderson connection for corrosion/fatigue as ts been the culprit of many a crispy TVR in the past.

Thanks Shep - just removed the old one, and indeed the Anderson connector is in a bit of state, corrosion has ruined it (probably why a jump start didnt work the other day!)
Question - any idea where I can source a replacement Anderson connector, from the High St as it were. Getting new battery later today, would like to get it all done fixed now, without having to take the battery out again.

I'm in te same boat as well. Need to replace mine as no charge going through it. Also, Dom @ power said they are a mega fire hazard. So it is now too of my list to replace!Question - any idea where I can source a replacement Anderson connector, from the High St as it were. Ebay or google 175amp anderson connector. You want the grey one or the red one but you need to remove a piece of the plastic. - I packed mine with silicone adhesive so if it splits there is less chance of a dead short as the pins are held apart, or water getting in it
Thanks. Battery is back in now, so will have to be a job another time. But I will get one ordered.shep1001 said:

Is there a difference between the grey and red? Looking at one on eBay for £20ish. But it says to specify whether it's red or grey as its important?Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
