18" spiders? probably 255/35x18, wider should use a wider rim than the 8.5j spider and possibly more inset. You may experience rubbing on the outer wheel arch dependant on ride hieght/rear spring rate/age on full bump, though some rub on stock settings tyres anyway.

Just fitted 255/35 on my T350 with 18" spiders and although they took some getting on, not had any rubbing yet. Before buying try Camskill for a price as they were the cheapest i could find and had next day delivery.

I do have a set of Toyo R1Rs for sale which I have only used for 500 road miles, unfortunately they rubbed a little on my Tamora, T350s seem to have a little more room

2 x 255/35/18 and 2x 225/40/18

Hoping for £500 ish, Camskill are charging £759 for a set but are out of stock of the rears

Don't think I am too far from you, I am near Gatwick

That tyre size is a little bit stretched on the rim, giving a harsher ride.
255/35/18 is such a widely used tyre size for all manner of of vehicles, hence massive more choice at better prices.
And an extra 20mm rubber on the road each side...

235 section is quite small IMO for the performance of the car, 255 seemed much better to me.

Why do you think they never said 255s from the get go, interesting topic.
