Hi guys

Anyone know the history of this Sag?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3063552.htm

Its been in the classifieds for ages. Low price, low mileage but that green!

Well I'm not that up on the specs of a Sag - but those seats sure do look a lot like Tuscan ones that I have in my T350C!
The colour is absolutely terrible IMHO.
I've also looked at a couple of T350's that they have for sale and one has a badly ripped side bolster in the driving seat.
Yes it appears to be a low price but what lurks behind the cat D?

It was available for £33k not so long ago. And slowly the price is increasing....

Most strange....

Don't touch it!

I looked into it before purchasing mine and a few members told me that the traders left a very bad taste in the mouth. Despite this I contacted them anyway.

It was priced at 38k a few months ago even though it had been up for almost a year. I offered to buy it for the original 34k that it was on for. The guy was rude and told me that the car was in perfect condition and was worth more.

The very next day the price went up to 41k

I have since learned, from a dealership that inspected the car on behalf of a customer, that there is at least 9k worth of work still to be done to bring it back up to a decent and satisfactory standard. So even if you buy the car and spend the 9k it will not be worth the same as a non CAT-D.

Unless you can get them back to the original 34k it will not be worth it.

Also it's not the original colour if that matters to you. (puke green isn't to my taste) it's about 4-6k for a full body respray

And the interior contrasting colours are horrible. It's about 3-5k for full interior redo.

full respray and colour change with surface and design is £3300, not bad.

Im not sure i believe 9k worth of work needs done, it might need 2-3k worth but a working car cant need much, still its a cat-d and will always be undesirable, its best chances are being converted for racing.

Full body rewspray and interior for 3300?

Not trying to be sarcastic, but where?

Full re-spray including colour change of the paint is £3300 at surface and design in blackpool.

No idea about re-trims though.

Is that for a shell off or just a respray? Just for future reference if I need to do mine

Well its a full proper colour change, not sure if the shell needs to come off though. Theres a price chart on the website for all models, front end/full re-spray/full re-spray including change of colour.

I won;t go into all the in's and out's again, but I spent a lot of time, effort and money looking at buying that Sag before it went to that dealer. I walked away when I couldn;t get it for 30k, and would advise anyone to do the same who is thinking they can have a 60k Sag for 40k. Make a great racing or track day car, or car that you know will only ever be worth (at it's current price) less than you paid for it. All IMHO of course :-)

Just chexked the pricing on their site, it doesn't include paint and vat so 4-6k looks about right

Well spotted Paul, i did think 3300 was a very good price, so £3960 with vat and then your paint which will be from £300-£1500 if you want a spectraflair colour, bummer!

I know what you're saying Mike, but not so sure I agree 100% on the last part of your statement. Bought right and re-introduced into the public domain, I see no reason why it wouldnt get dragged along with the current value trends. Just needs to be seen out and about and its provenence updated?

And the vat will be on top of the paint so its more like 4800 max for paint then 960 for vat.
Comes out at 5760 depending on colour choice.

And then ud still have the interior to do

Generally speaking, there are so few people who will buy a Cat-D car, and even fewer when you get up to this price bracket, which is why I personally think it would always struggle, regardless of how well it's been repaired and enhanced/improved. I like the colour and all the body work - just wasn;t for me in the end.
