Can someone answer my question that knows wiring??

I changed the battery on my sag the other day and dont know where the wire from the from the female end of the lambda plugs goes. Its a thin black wire with a ring connector. Im sure it goes on the negative of the battery but can someone confirm please?

Also I used a multimeter on the live of the fuel pump connector that comes through the tank and it bells out (continuity) to the fuel tank itself. Is that correct?

I'd be very, very surprised if the Sag is wired so the tank is live - that sounds very wrong.

IIRC the 4 wire Lambda on the late S6 has 2 earths (black in colour) but they go into the multi-plug that connects to the 4 wire coloured multiplug in the engine bay
